So this week, they put up a Promotional video up on the Official Kannagi fansite. Could this possibly mean that the series will be licensed soon? Hopefully someone good will pick it up; it’s a shame Geneon no longer exists in the US market, but I’m fine with Bandai and Funimation picking it up since they do a good job. Well regardless of who picks it up, if the people who are working on the fansite also work on the localization it should be fine. I mean the Haruhi and Lucky Star localization went great, particularly the extras that went inside the limited editions and I hope we can expect as much from a Kannagi localization.
PS. If you’re wondering why I didn’t put ADV as a licensor I’d want to license Kannagi, it’s because I don’t care for ADV for a few reasons. They’re like the Microsoft of anime licensing to me; sure they do a lot, but there’s no heart. It feels like they have a quantity over quailty business plan, and while it works for others it simply doesn’t work for me. The other bigger reason is because of articles like the ones found here. I’ll let you form your own opinion on it, but as an anime fan I think ADV’s behavior is unacceptable in this matter.
The latest scanlations for Hayate no Gotoku have a long awaited and wanted story arc featuring Hayate and Hina’s first “date”!!! The two being who they are, are even aware of it till the very end! Here’s a few exerts:
The arc starts off with Hina wanting to act a little kinder to Hayate since it’s been pointed out to her that she’s pretty cold to him, and through some misunderstandings Hayate invites Hina out to watch a movie. The expressions on Hina’s face throughout this arc are priceless
Hina’s also surprisingly aggressive too!
The HayateXHina arc consists of chapters 162-164; speaking of Hina, we get a brief glimpse of “Hina in Wonderland” in ch. 147
It’s a shame they didn’t devote a whole chapter to a Hina-style Alice in Wonderland story; At the very least, this Hina-dressed-as-Alice picture says volumes and I would like to request……….Nay! Demand that they make a figurine of Alice Hina!!!
I finally got my Gurren Lagann Kirameki Yoko Box – Pieces of Sweet Stars DVD in the mail. This set really comes with a lot of extras, with the best one definately being the music video animated by Gainax!
The scenes are done quite well, my favorite scene in particular is where Yoko is working at the convenience store, and Kamina comes up to the counter. It just had a great feel for KaminaXYoko fans. The song itself is pretty good and quite catchy. Continue reading ‘Gurren Lagann Kirameki Yoko Box – Pieces of Sweet Stars DVD Opened!’
This week the Kannagi Official fansite added, 2 videos. One is a video of a Nagi cosplay dancing; apparently in the coming weeks, a dance contest will be announced. The other video features the drawing process of sketching Nagi.
So a Kannagi dance contest eh? I can see girls doing it, and I can see guys doing it; though for the guys it’ll either be ridiculously funny, or ridiculously disturbing………… I believe I’ll con a few friends into doing it while I tape them and judge if I can make something doable. For guys, the obvious choice would be to have an effeminate male cosplay as a girl and do it. There’s also the option of cosplaying as Jin, Akiba, and Daitetsu and dancing in a suggestive manner (Kannagi dance, Hard Guy style!). Anyone think they’d enter a Kannagi dance contest, I assume the choreography will be based on Nagi’s moves in the anime opening.
