Summary:

The Omake starts off with a “remake” of the begining of the first episode with Toma getting a “love-call” and then taking out his futon out to dry like before, but this time instead of finding index, he finds Index-tan. The familiar scene continues, though this time Index-tan is immediately carried off by a bird after saying she’s hungry. Next scene Index-tan is on Toma’s head a la Shana-tan style eating Yakisoba-pan instead of Melon-pan with even Toma commenting that the scene seems familiar which leads Index-tan imitating Shan-tan’s uruchai uruchai response and telling those who don’t understand the reference to check out the Shakugan no Shana DVD and Toma tells her to not push herself which leads Index-tan to pull out Toma’s hair. Another biri biri insert and Himegami asking why later we revisit the scene where Komoe-sensei summons an angel to heal index with the angels this time appearing as a child’s drawing of an angel. the next segment is called “Teach Me Kanzaki-senpai”

The first question being “Is Kanzaki-senpai really 18?

Answer: “Shut up amateur!!!”

Question 2: Are those really jeans?

Answer: “Shut up amateur!!!”

Okay for the third question, I could really get most of it, but it’s a question that asks about the seiyuu and other animes, with the same answer of “Shut up, and Kanzaki proceeding to wail on Toma saying she tries hard.

The next scene has Toma sticking his finger in index’s mouth again, only this time it causes her to vomit. Next scene is Toma trying to save Index and giving his speech about everyone being happy and finally gets to the part of Kanzaki and Stiyl-Magnus doing something if they want to be main characters which leads to both of them having a “Eureka” moment.

The next segment has Tsuchimikado and Pierce hosting a little corner/infomercial  on the cleaning robots in Gakuen city. When asking how much you’d pay for one, Kanzaki says 7,000 yen (nanasen yen, and after Pierce keeps asking her to repeat that, she gets pissed and proceeds to use her attack (nanasen) on him. Next scene has Himegami and Komoe-sensei eating Yakiniku with Index-tan eating a mountain of rice and Kome grilling everything but the meat with Himegami repeatedly telling her to put the meat in.

Closing scene has Toma and Index-tan walking down the street with Stiyl-Magnus looking upon them in a Yoshida Kazumi manner.

Opinions:

Well for the most part they re-used a lot of Shana-tan gags which made it a little tiresome in some respects, granted they used them to make them references, but given the short time of the omake, I’d like to have seen more new material. I liked the Mikoto inserts of her telling us to “Conserve electricity” following random phrases/sound effects like biri biri or mugi mugi.  I loved hearing Rina Sato’s voice doing those. Throughout the whole thing, I enjoyed the Mikoto and Kanzaki parts just because they’re my favorite characters in the series. I did think that the whole Stiyl-Magnus playing the Yosida-stalker part was both perfect and hilarious. Speaking of which I loved hearing Shizuka Itou’s voice doing the whole nanasen yen/nanasen pun, because I like her voice, been a big fan of her’s since her Tama-nee role in To Heart 2.

All this litle extra did is have me look forward to more Mikoto centered stories that’ll appear later on in the Index anime, that and it had me looking at Mikoto and Kanzaki doujinshis all over again……..I can’t help it, Kanzaki’s a long-haired bishoujo with legs that go on forever, and look at what she wears!!! It’s not my fault for staring, and well I just find Mikoto’s spunky attitude charming and I invite all Mikoto fans to check out this doujinshi of her.  it’s just so darn cute, I also believe it’s been translated.

To close this post I’d like to apologize for not posting anything in a while. Those of you who still stop by every now and then are real troopers. I still haven’t found anything to blog this season since there are 3 problems.

1.) I don’t want to do mainstream stuff as other blogs will cover it and I want to cover the underdogs for those who want to know what happens but can’t find someone who blogs it

2.) Nothing’s grabbing me like how Akane-iro Ni Somaru Saka grabbed me

3.) I’m taking a few tough classes this quarter so I may be busy at some points.

If anyone has a solution to all this or an anime that’ll meet may meet my criteria, by all means message me and I’ll see what I can do!

For the “Oshiete Kanzaki-sempai” part, Question 3 goes something like this: Did a certain seiyuu become dead drunk at one Anime’s after-party?

This question is a parody/joke that indirectly makes fun of Itou Shizuka who is well known for her drinking habits and of course more interestingly, her tendencies when she’s drunk. So Itou (as Kaori) wailed on Touma, screaming that she tried her best to fire up the mood at the bar by gulping alcohol in one shot and soon spiraling into drunkenness, but still failed to get the crowd excited.

I have a slight hunch the Anime’s after-party is one of the Shakugan no Shana ones, where Itou did what Kaori was stating in that parody segment but unlike Kaori, Itou really liven up the atmosphere and attracted a lot of attention, reportedly by doing rather um…questionable things to Itou Noizi at the scene ^^;. Oh well, one more reason for us to adore Shizu-sama. 😉

Thank you for that, I was wondering what she was saying as it seemed like the funniest gag of the 3 questions; and indeed those questionable things do make us adore her more! That and reminds me why she was perfect for playing Shinra in”kimi ga aruji de shitsuji ga ore de”
