Summary:

Underground Touma runs into Sherry; Touma looks around, but Sherry tells him that her Golem Ellis is somewhere else and wonders if her target is already dead or if Ellis is in the middle of doing it. Sherry tells Touma that he’ll be her opponent, but Touma questions Sherry’s motives since there’s a power balance between the Science and Magic factions. Sherry asks Touma if he’s heard that if a ESPer’s body will be destroyed if they use magic, and asks if he ever thought that it was strange. Sherry reveals that her friend Ellis died from the fusion. Because of this Sherry believes there needs to be a segragation between the two. Touma realizes that Sherry just wants there to be war in retaliation for what happened to her friend. Sherry summons the seals she placed everywhere in the tunnel and everything starts shaking. Touma notices a seal near Sherry and remembers what Index said about magic and proceeds to destroy the seal. Touma questions why Sherry needs to target Index or Hyouka in her quest for revenge and proceeds to punch Sherry and Touma tells her that she should understand the feeling of having someone close to her be in danger. Back with Index, she is about to be done in by Ellis when Hyouka comes in and and stops it with a flying kick to golem’s chest. Index is surprised to see her, but notice’s Hyouka’s leg which looks shattered at her right kneecap; though it regenerates. Hyouka tells Index to run and continues her fight with Ellis as Ellis sucks in the matter around it to regenerate. Index tells Hyouka to run away, but Hyouka tells her it’s ok because she’s not human and apologizes for lying to her. At that moment Ellis attacks  them with a punch, but Hyouka takes the attack. The Impact of Ellis’s attack puts a strain on Hyouka’s arms, and as it looks like her arms are about to shatter, she regenerates and pushes Ellis back. As Hyouka is holding back Ellis’s right arm, Ellis uses its left arm to attack Hyouka. Touma comes as Hyouka is about to get hit and destroys Ellis with his Imagine Breaker. In the aftermath, Mikoto comes up to Touma and scolds him about the troulbe caused before Kuroko comes in and takes Mikoto away. On the catwalk of a construction site, Hyouka  mopes since she believes that she won’t be able to be friends wiht Index anymore. Hyouka continues her lamenting in Touma’s arms saying she wanted to save her friend so it couldn’t be helped, but Touma tells her she isn’t a monster, she’s human and with that Index appears on behind them. Index hugs Hyouka and Touma tells her that while her body may be different from other people she’s still Index’s friend.

Meanwhile in Aleister Crowely’s chambers Tsuchimikado comments about the creation of the key to controling the Imaginary Number District, and believes Aleister Crowely to be a monster as he believes that Crowley’s goal is to create an artificial heaven, but warns Crowely of using the Imagine Breaker since his illusions will be consumed by that right hand. Crowely replies that it’s fine since his illusions have been broken long ago. At the hospital, Touma is happy about it being the first time he’s come to the hospital without an injury and comments that this must be personal growth for him, but Komoe-sensei and Himegami are mad at him for worrying them and punch him in the back of the head. In the waiting room Hyouka is telling Index that her existance is unstable, but tels Index that she’ll won’t die even if she disappears, Index just won’t be able to see her. Hyouka continues telling Index that she’ll always be by her side, and Index asks her to come back again sometime to play.

In the Epilogue, Index is talking with Maika about being bored, Himegami is talking with Pierce about magic girls, Tsuchimikado is sent on another job, Accelerator is recuperating with Last Order watching over him, and Kuroko is finding ways to sexually harrass Mikoto. Somewhere presumably near a church, Archbishop Laura Stuart is telling Stiyl Magus that they’ll be needing Index and Stiyl replies he’ll return to Japan with Kanzaki, but Laura tells him that she hasn’t been able to contact Kanzaki. Back at Academy City, Touma is walking around till he runs into a starving Index. Index is mad at Touma leaving her at home while he’s out eating using the yakisoba bread in his hand as an example, and with that proceeds to bite him.

Opinion:

Well, they did a decent job of tying up the story and ending the 1st season, while at the same time setting up for season 2. I was pleasantly surpised with the announcement of To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou being animated, I’m assuming it’ll be on air before season 2 of To Aru Majutsu no Index, and if that’s so it’l make the wait for it a lot easier. I’m looking forward to seeing Kuroko harrass Mikoto with more air time for it, more Biri-Biri; the only shame is that Mikoto wears shorts under her skirt, so that’s one less piece of fanservice. Though that could also be part of her charm………. In any case, for those of you who have noticed, I’ve included extra Mikoto pics in the screens with her getting embaressed and the fan service scene where Kuroko tries to grope her. So to close I’ll just say I look forward to To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou and now that they’ve shown that Kawasumi Ayako is voicing Archbishop Laura Stuart, I’m wondering who will voice Uiharu Kazari and Ruriko Saten in To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou. Since it’s J.C. Staff they might use Kugumiya Rie, though I’m wondering if either character fits her voice; there’s also a possibility of using Yui Horie who I can see voicing Uiharu. Well then, I’ll sign off here before I get into a whole list of seiyūs.

So To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou is becoming an anime! That's more Biri-Biri than you can shake a light novel at!!

I will leave this one final Pic to leave as I finish this first season………

OH YEAH!!! That'll stay in my head for a while. Perfect picture to welcome warmer weather in!

When Kuroko’s around, not for long. It helps she can teleport objects too. 😉

Quite a neat end to Index, I must say. J.C.Staff did a better job than I expected. I guess I was being a bit too pessimistic early on in the series but towards the end, I was happy how they stayed faithful to the original on overall, and cleanly concluded the series.

Looking forward to Railgun then. 🙂
