Summary:

One morning Mashiro is yelling at Yuuri to wake up, but Yuuri complains that it’s still 5:00AM and it’s a Sunday; Mashiro though feels that the 3 Tayutai can attack at any moment and trains Yuuri to awaken his spiritual powers so Mashiro is having him do so running with small Tayutais chasing him and breathing fire if he slows down. Yuuri questions if he even has this power, but Mashiro claims that Kikurami felt his power when she appeared. Mashiro comments that she doesn’t remember marrying a weakling; to which Yuuri comments that he doesn’t remember being married to a demon, which earns him Mashiro’s wrath. It’s 10:00AM now and Yuuri is in bed resting from his training with Mashiro; Mashiro comes in and lies down on the bed with him and transfers some of her spiritual energy into Yuuri to heal him. Mashiro apologizes to Yuuri and tells him that she wanted him to understand that she was strict and asks him to be more considerate from now on. Yuuri asks if the 3 Tayutai are strong, and Mashiro tells him if Kikurami were at full strength it’d be different; but with her in her current state it’s 50-50. Yuuri realizes this is why he has to become stronger so he can fight with her; Yuuri says he isn’t sure if he has the power, but he can’t leave the Tayutayu alone. Mashiro embraces Yuuri and asks him not to leave her alone; Ameri enters the room and screams when she sees Mashiro on Yuuri. Yuuri tries to explain the situation, but Mashiro responds with a sarcastic “che” and begins a small debate over her relationship with Yuuri with Ameri.

Over some tea, Mashiro discusses with Yuuri’s father about attending school as she wants to understand modern times and Yuuri; Yuuri’s father pulls a favor from Ameri’s father, the chairman. There are some problems as he wants Mashiro to get in for free under a scholarship, but after some playful blackmailing there are no problems regarding Mashiro’s admission. Yuuri rides his motorbike to school with Mashiro in tow; at school Sankurou is asking who Mashiro and is informed of everything that happened after he left, which earns him the angry envy of Sankurou. Ameri comes in and is surprised to see Mashiro at school and asks her to reconsider. Suddenly a small girl with blue short hair hugs Yuuri; it turns out to be his step-sister Yumina who also attends the same school Yumina is a member of Flawless, which is student body that only accepts women with high grades and etiquette. Kisaragi shows up and tells Yumina to get away from Yuuri and announces to Yuuri that she considers him to be suspicious because of the incident before at the construction site. Kisaragi addresses Mashiro stating she’s the Mito Mashiro from the report, and informs her that she will be responsible for her transfer exam. Yumina inquires on why Mashiro has the same family name as her brother, and asks what her relationship with him is. Mashiro informs her that she became Yuuri’s wife a few days ago; to the shock of Yumina and Kisaragi. Kisaragi demands an explanation from Yuuri, and Yuuri replies it has to do with being Yachimata’s descendant; though Kisaragi mishears it as hachimata (meaning to have 8 relationships at once).

In the chairman’s office, Ameri is questioning her dad regarding Mashiro. Her father states that the school’s motto is to give people who want to enter an equal chance; though Ameri replies that he’s being blackmailed by Yuuri’s dad. Her father does tell her that Mashiro needs to pass the transfer test first, before she can attend the school; at this moment Director Takayama comes in to discuss Mashiro’s score. Apparently Mashiro scored a perfect in every category on the exam, and Director Takayama comments that Mashiro’s mannerisms are that of a noble. In the evening Kisaragi informs Mashiro that the director of Flawless would like to meet with her; meanwhile Ameri is informing Yuuri and Sankurou of what she learned in her dad’s office. Mashiro is being invited to join Flawless, and Kisaragi congratulates her; Mashiro being moved at being welcomed by humans, accepts the invitation. That night at home, Mashiro is shocked to learn that she joining the all-girl part of the school by joining Flawless, which also means dorming at school and being away from Yuuri; Mashiro is unsure what to do, but Yuuri tells her the people at Flawless really want her and Yuuri’s father tells her to cherish the relationships between people. Mashiro agrees with Yuuri’s father as if she ignored the relationships between humans, then Kikurami’s wish for harmony would be impossible. Yuuri tells her that he won’t ignore his training and tells her he wants to support her, but Mashiro is reluctant as they won’t have many chances to meet if she joins; though Yuuri encourages her to do her best to be accepted, and Mashiro accepts the idea of being with Flawless. At school the next day, Mashiro is introduced to the class and seems to be quite popular with everyone. Unfortunately once everyone notices that Mashiro’s ears and tail are real; they keep their distance from Mashiro, leaving her alone to wonder if she made the right choice.

Opinions:

Tsk, tsk Yuuri; first rule of marriage: never talk back to the wife. I feel bad for Mashiro, I mean come on! The different kids are usually isolated and it’s a lousy deal! Mashiro’s difference being just some ears and a tail (a plus for some people I know *cough*Jermz*cough*) other than that she’s perfect! A small drawback, if you can even call it that. Also the opening is revealing quite a bit of the storyline; though I suppose if you go with the assumption that if the studio’s marketing to people that have played the game, it makes sense. I kinda like the ending theme, for some reason it reminds me a little of the ef: Tale of Melodies ending; well the first few notes anyway. Man, I am slowly falling for Mashiro; I think it’s the voice; Noriko Rikimaru has a pleasant voice and has a cute tone that fits Mashiro. Hearing her does make me think of Komaki from To Heart 2; kinda makes me think that if Komaki had Mashiro’s mischievous personality, then she’d have a better chance at getting Takaaki. But if she was more mischievous she’d be threading on Tama-nee’s domain. Back t0 the character on hand; Mashiro is cute, appeals to a wide variety of fetishes, and isn’t opposed to using force, we need to start Mashiro-ism or something. Though this is probably the moe-struck part of my brain talking……….
