Summary:

During summer vacation, Tomomi happened to see Selnia kiss Akiharu on the balcony of Selnia’s mansion. The scene is stuck in Tomomi’s mind as she lies on her bed after just taking a shower. As she thinks about it, she touches her lips and then gets up as if she has decided on something. Meanwhile, Selnia is reminiscing the kiss as well, and getting embarrassed the more she remembers it as she wonders why she did it. Fou comes into the room and comments that Selnia is acting interesting today. Selnia corrects her and tells her she’s troubled, but Fou tells her that she seems happy.

Second semester starts the next day and at the student assembly Kaede asks if there were any irresponsible students who spent the whole break playing; admitting that she herself has played RPGs and otome games the whole break. Mikan starts getting angry and reminds everyone that they need to work hard to be distinguished ladies and respectable butlers and maids. During the meeting Shingo asks Akiharu if anything happened while he was at Selnia’s, and Selnia is clearly bothered by the possibility of Akiharu talking about their kiss. Selnia waits behind a bush for Akiharu to make sure he keeps his mouth shut about the kissing incident, but before she can, Tomomi comes over to Akiharu and invites him on a date for the coming weekend. Akiharu reluctantly agrees after Tomomi assures him it’s not a trick.

That weekend Akiharu and Tomomi go on their “date” with Tomomi dragging Akiharu to a café, movie, and shopping while acting girlish and cute to gauge Akiharu’s reaction. Selnia tails the two, but gets interrupted by classmates she meets along the way; the Shikikagami sisters at the café and movie cause a ruckus that gets Selnia kicked out at the movies, and Pina and Mimina cause a scene at a store when Pina sexually harasses Mimina. The date continues to a karaoke bar, and finally at an arcade where Tomomi takes Akiharu into a photo-booth to get their picture taken. She then forces Akiharu to get her a penguin plushie in a claw machine. Selnia loses track of them after getting too involved in a DDR machine. Selnia is pretty upset that she wasted her whole day and lost track of Akiharu and Tomomi, and even tears up.

As Tomomi and Akiharu walk back, Tomomi, seemingly satisfied, comments to herself that she must be over thinking things. Akiharu once again asks Tomomi what her real objective was. Tomomi tells him that either she had something she wanted to confirm, or maybe she didn’t want to lose but today’s date helped her to realize some things. When Akiharu asks her “who” she didn’t want to lose to, Tomomi tells him anyone. Some children run by and Tomomi brings up Akiharu’s dream to be a bride, and Akiharu reminds her that it’s her fault. Apparently Tomomi told Akiharu that it didn’t matter if he was a boy, since he was a kind and reliable she guaranteed he could be a great bride when they were children.

This lead to Akiharu writing his essay of “What I want to be when I grow up” to be “I want to be a bride when I grow up”. This led to everyone laughing at him, especially Tomomi. Tomomi asks him whose bride he wanted to be, and Akiharu tells her that he wanted to be her bride at the time. Akiharu starts walking ahead and wonders why he wanted such a thing and attributes it to being a kid. He Tomomi that if she feels even a little responsible to stop spreading the story around. Tomomi tells him she understands and the two continue on, with Tomomi’s face being completely red.

Opinions:

Well there was a lot in the development of Akiharu and Tomomi’s relationship this week. I really sympathized with Akiharu it was super creepy seeing Tomomi out of character. It’s also interesting to see a “childhood friend”character that lost completely most if not all the advantages of being a childhood friend. The reason Akiharu seemed so immune to Tomomi’s flirting is because he was pretty much trained from childhood to keep his guard up around her. It really got me thinking “How hot does a girl have to be for you to lower your guard if personality-wise she scares the daylights out of you?”. The biggest change for this episode was at the end when Akiharu told Tomomi that he wanted to be her bride. Though this is in past tense, but it still gets Tomomi blushing. This will really set up some interesting developments between Akiharu and Tomomi as it seems that Tomomi likes Akiharu (I’m assuming its safe to assume with her blushing at Akiharu’s “I wanted to be your bride” comment. In any case, if Tomomi wants to go down that route she has major PR job to pull to change Akiharu’s opinion of her. I wonder if they’ll bring up how Akiharu said he “wanted” to be Tomomi’s bride (in past tense), so I wonder if that means he no longer sees her that way anymore? Next week’s episode seems to be about Daichi. From what I can gather it seems Daichi receives a love letter and is troubled on what to do. Perphaps this leads to a  confession to Akiharu?
