Summary:

As Daichi is cleaning up one of the tables he’s waiting, he discovers a love letter addressed to him. This becomes the talk of the school amongst the upper-class girls, and the talks about confessing your love get Tomomi and Selnia thinking about the topic as well. Meanwhile Daichi is reading the love letter and expresses her dissatisfaction in getting it. Akiharu, Shingo, and Mitsuru come over to Daichi after hearing about the love letter. Shingo grabs the letter and reveals the sender to be upper-class second year, Benikouji Sakurako. During their gym class, The subject of the love letter keeps coming up and Daichi keeps persisting that he has no intention of going out with girls; though they keep getting punished by Mikan for disrupting class. Daichi states that he plans to simply ignore the girl and hope the whole thing blows over, but Akiharu tells her that it’s disrespectful to the girl if he does that. Daichi then wonders what to do since it’s the first time she’s had to deal with a matter like this.

This leads to a little advice session from Shingo, Mitsuru, and Akiharu. Shingo starts with stating that the most important thing when going out with a girl is the mood, Mitsuru says that you need to start out as friends and then explicitly details how to go on to lovers and husband and wife from there, and Akiharu states that whether you accept or reject a girl it needs to be done face-to-face and directly. The advice doesn’t really help Daichi and tells everyone to leave him alone. Daichi sits down outside and gets so frustrated that he starts to crumple the letter, but remembers what Akiharu said about it being disrespectful to the girl. Akiharu then comes up and sits down next to Daichi and apologizes for earlier. Akiharu then tells Daichi that the best thing to do is just say how you really feel. Unbeknownst to Akiharu and Daichi, Tomomi and Selnia are listening in on their conversation and Akiharu’s words seem to strike a chord in them.

That evening Daichi goes to the assigned meeting spot where Sakurako is waiting. Shingo, Akiharu, and Mitsuru are nearby and spying on them. Daichi apologizes to Sakurako and tells her she can’t accept her feelings for reasons she can’t say. Sakurako starts to cry, and Daichi says they can still be friends and starts to panic.  Sakurako asks Daichi if she has anyone she likes and while Daichi denies it, she keeps thinking about Akiharu. Sakuarko confirms that Daichi has someone she likes since it’s the first time she’s seen Daichi’s face so flustered.  Sakurako then leaves after telling Daichi that she’s rooting for her. Daichi starts wondering if the feelings she has is love, and Akiharu, Shingo, and Mitsuru come out and tell Daichi that she did great job acting. As the three of them tell Daicihi that they like him too, Daichi believes the feelings she has to be feelings of friendship. That night, Tomomi and Selnia are deeply thinking about something, and this continues into the next day when the two of them meet in the evening with Akiharu slowly walking towards them. Selnia tells Tomomi that she s her feelings and whom she needs to make it clear to, and Tomomi tells her that she was going to say the same thing.

Opinions:

There was a lot of stuff working in the background this week. Daichi’s love letter problem was the main plot for this episode, but it allowed for various things to happen in the background such as Tomomi and Selnia realizing their feelings for Akiharu. Hopefully this will continue into next week’s episode; which is an athletics festival episode. The one complaint I do have is that I felt this should’ve been the typical Daichi realizes her feelings for Akiharu episode, instead of “no, these feelings I have must be feelings of friendship”. All this does is delay this realization, and why put it off when you can do it now? Well to close off I would like to say this; I keep realizing how much of a wall Tomomi’s love has. I mean after hearing Akiharu talking about all the things he had to do as a kid for Tomomi, I just gotta say that Tomomi’s lucky Akiharu can even make eye contact with her. I am really curious how they will deal with the whole “atonement” issue that I think Tomomi needs to address if she wants to pursue a relationship with Akiharu.
