Summary:

Prior to Kanon’s disappearance, she had a conversation with her stylist regarding if she’s found someone she likes. Kanon shies around the subject until her stylist leaves due to a phone call. Kanon looks at her poster and comments to herself that she’s worked hard, but then she starts to doubt herself and tells herself that she’ll be abandoned if she fails an remembers when her old idol group Citron disbanded. Kanon starts getting depressed and goes invisible again.

Kanon is reported as missing, and her staff goes all-out looking for her. Elcea panics upon hearing this, but Keima is calm and announces his anticipation for this event. Keima announces that he has to be the first person to find Kanon, and won’t hand over this event to anyone. Keima and Elcea look for Kanon, but to avail. Eventually it becomes nighttime, and Keima spots Kanon sitting down in her transparent state. Keima calls out to her and expresses her worries about if people stopped paying attention to her and praising her, then she’d be invisible again. Kanon confirms this and tells Keima that he really does understand her betters than anyone else. Keima tells her it’s just a coincidence since he ran into the same development in a game.

Kanon embraces Keima and asks him to stay with her and give her courage. She tells him that she’s going to fail again, but feels things will be different if Keima is with her and goes in to kiss Keima. As Kanon is about to kiss Keima, Keima refuses her and tells her he doesn’t want to. Keima tells her to stop relying on others for confirmation, and tells her that her songs are good. Keima continues telling her that she can shine on her own, but Kanon tells him she can’t do anything by herself. Keima retorts that she already has, and Kanon starts hearing her fans in the concert hall chanting her name. Keima tells Kanon that everyone came here attracted to her light, and tells her he can’t keep her all to himself.

It begins to snow and Kanon starts to perk up.  Kanon tells Keima that she would have been fine just singing for one person, and says bye to him before kissing him. The runaway spirit comes out and Elcea captures it. Kanon returns backstage and her manager continues coordinating the preparations for the concert. Kanon notices some flowers sent to her from her former bandmates Lime and Yuri and Kanon’s face is filled with happiness. Kanon’s concert starts and is a huge success. Outside the concert hall Elcea asks Keima if he’s changed his opinions regarding real idols, and Keima blushes and states that they’re still not there yet. Keima corrects Elcea and tells her that Kanon isn’t an idol, but that she’s a star that’s already shining. After the concert in an empty concert hall, Kanon starts singing one her old songs she sung when she was a part of Citron. She starts smiling and quietly thanks everyone.

Opinions:

The conclusion to Kanon arc went out with a bang! As expected of an idol heroine, they did a concert for the ending going into the ending credits. They added a little extra content to the anime, but they served to give more depth to Kanon’s character. I loved how they showed Kanon’s relationship with her former bandmates and showed how hurt she was when they disbanded. I also like the visual queues they showed such as how they flashed the word “fine” at the end; it just gives you an idea of Kanon’s mental state. The best part was the concert at the end, and it confirmed what I already knew. I’m gonna/gotta buy Kanon’s character CD. I love the songs and I love the character! There’s really no other choice now is there? On that note, I love the illustration this episode; it’s of Kanon in all her stun gun glory! Gotta find out who the artist is and what games they worked on! That’s like one of the sexiest Kanon pictures I’ve seen thus far, and yes I’m including KamiNomi doujinshi I’ve seen!

KamiNomi Character CDs

Yep, like I thought. They’re doing character CDs. Paid a visit to the KamiNomi Wiki. They have all the information on the CDs: release dates, song lists, etc.  Elcea’s came out first, and Ayumi’s comes out Nov. 17. So pretty soon. The only one I feel I’ll get so far is Kanon’s character CD; since they’ve played some of her songs in the anime. I liked her songs enough too; the only thing for me is that I’m not seeing “All4You” in the song list for Kanon’s character CD. Hopefully it is, and wouldn’t you know it, Kanon’s is the last one to come out; December 15. That’s still a little whiles away. Hopefully it’ll have “All4You”; I’ll need to see if I can find Ayumi’s character song in the anime or find samples online somewhere. I have a feeling I might be interested in hers too.

Ah, you can find all the Character CD information at the KamiNomi wiki at:
