Summary:

Kazuya wakes up in the Recovery Center with Rana and Satella looking over him. He apologizes for getting involved without being able to do anything. Satella agrees with him and tells him he acted rashly, but shows concern for him. Rana defends Kazuya, saying he interfered for her sake. Satella leaves the room, and Rana tells him that she’s fallen for him even more and she’ll make him her fated person one day. Kazuya tries to interrupt her, but Rana tells him not concern himself over her one-sided feelings for now. Outside Satella wonders why she said what she did, when she actually felt happy that Kazuya interfered.

The next day, Kaho and Arthur are talking to Kazuya about the prom. Arthur explains that the event happens once a year and this year is the first time they’re allowing the 1st Year students to participate. Kaho adds that partners can deepen their bonds, and those who haven’t found partners can find one at the prom. Arthur notes the biggest draw is the Pandora Queen, and Kazuya asks what that is. Kaho explains that “Pandora Queen” is a title for the winner of the beauty pageant in which students vote for, and adds that the rank 2 Elizabeth Maybury was last year’s queen. Arthur remarks that it suits her as she has the looks and elegance of a queen. While looking at Elizabeth, Kazuya agrees.

At the pool, Atia is asking Elisabeth if she plans to just leave Satellizer alone. Elisabeth comments that the academy’s rank 4 and 5 couldn’t settle the matter, then they need to accept the fact that Satellizer is strong, and their own lack of power. Ingrid asks if she’s planning to admit defeat, but Elizabeth comments that she’s interested in Satellizer latent power that they witnessed. Elizabeth remembers Chiffon’s warnings that these peaceful days won’t last much longer, and comments that Chiffon was telling her to keep potential useful fighters in reserve. Atia refuses to let this stand, but clarifies that there are other methods of punishment besides fighting.

Meanwhile Satella is thinking about a chance to apologize to Kazuya, and notices Rana calling out to Kazuya. Rana asks Kazuya to go to the prom with her, but Satella shows up. Arthur and Kaho take their leave, and Satella announces to Rana that Kazuya will be dancing with her. Rana retorts that Satella hasn’t asked Kazuya yet though. The two start a verbal fight, and Kazuya stops the fight from going any further by telling Rana that he was planning on inviting Satella. Rana accepts her defeat and tells Kazuya she hasn’t lost yet and kisses his cheek before leaving; much to the shock of Satella. Satella gets jealous and tells Kazuya to meet her on the night of the prom.

The night of the prom, Miyabi is going over the poll results in order to ensure her victory. Satella is trying to decide what dress to wear, and gets jealous as she remembers Kazuya’s reaction from Rana kissing him on the cheek. Satella hears Kazuya knocking on the door so she goes out, but she trips upon opening the door and falls on Kazuya; with Kazuya accidentally groping her. In the hall they are interrupted by Atia; who introduces herself to them as the academy’s rank 6, Atia Simones.

Outside Gennessa is telling Arthur that since she came in 1st during the Carnival, she’ll keep the momentum rolling and aim to be the Pandora Queen. Arthur tells her that she has the beauty and elegance of a queen so she’s sure to win. Behind them Kaho is commenting that she needs to concentrate on getting a partner rather than concerning herself with others,. The prom starts, and in a room somewhere Yumi-sensei and Elise-sensei are enjoying some wine and talking with Chiffon and Torisu. Yumi comments that Sister Margarett isn’t coming as there have been some dimensional rifts showing up nonstop in the past few days. Chiffon asks if it’s related to the Noavas, but all Elise tells them is that Sister Margarett has been meeting with the higher ups in the past few days, and tells Chiffon and Torisu to go enjoy the prom.

Back with Satella, Atia is informing her that the 3rd Years have suspended their intentions to punish Satellizer. Atia declares that the reason she came her is to challenge Satella. Kazuya tries to stop it, but Atia corrects him saying she doesn’t plan to spill blood. Instead she plans to compete using the Pandora Queen pageant, and tells Satellizer to enter and they’ll compete using the number of votes. Satella accepts her challenge declaring that no matter the challenge, she’ll definitely win. Atia leaves while stating that Satella won’t be able to win using just her chest.

The Pageant continues with Ganessa, Miyabi going out. Meanwhile Satella is regretting taking part as it’s embarrassing for her. Kazuya wonders what to do, since they already submitted Satella’s entry. Rana comes up to them wearing clothes from her homeland, and Kazuya explains to her what happened. Atia walks up to Satella and asks if she’s already admitting defeat, and Rana tells her she doesn’t want to lose to her either. Atia also recognizes Rana as a threat and is obviously bothered by the size of Rana’s breasts.

It’s finally Atia’s turn and she goes out declaring she’ll show that a woman’s charm isn’t only about the size of their chest and works the crowd. Rana tells Satella that a Pandora’s honor is also the Limiter’s honor, so when she thinks of that she can do anything she doesn’t like. With that, Rana walks out and is a big hit. Meanwhile Satella is informed she’s up next and Satella gets up and tells Kazuya that she doesn’t like it, but she has to for Kazuya’s sake. Satella walks out, and everyone’s surprised as no ever expected her to participate. Chiffon comments that she would never have participated in the past, but Sister Margarett says it’s because of Kazuya that she’s participating.

Satella is freezing up on stage, but the audience loves it as she seems innocent, and frail to the audience. The pageant finishes off with last year’s winner, Elizabeth Maybury.  Afterwards is the dance and all the Pandoras are paired up with their Limiters, but Only Rana and Kaho are together as they couldn’t find someone. Kazuya comments that they’ll announce the winner soon, but Satella is embarrassed since all she did was stand up there without doing anything, but Kazuya tells her that isn’t true since he’s happy she went up there for his sake. Satella is happy at his words, and is about to suggest they perform a baptism, but is interrupted by the announcement of the Pandora Queen results.  Miyabi won 5th place, but it seems there are some irregularities regarding this so she’s disqualified. The real rankings are:

5th Place – Ganessa Roland

4th Place – Rana Linchen

3rd Place – Atia Simones

2nd Place – Elizabeth Maybury

1st Place – Satellizer L. Bridget

The results surprise everyone, and everyone congratulates her. Atia goes off on her own, and Ganessa tells Satella that she was the only one she didn’t want to lose to. Meanwhile Atia hatches another plan and tries to get Satellizer to wear an embarrassing/skimpy outfit by having her change into it for her Queen coronation. But Atia’s prank is a little more sinister since the outfit turns transparent when exposed to light. Kazuya uses Freezing on everyone and they make a run for it, and comments that he’s surprised that  Satella has a side like that to her.

Opinions:

So this episode covers chapter 24 of the manga, with most of it filler. The replaced Kazuya and Satella’s “date” to the amusement part with a prom. I found the change a little interesting, especially because of the beauty pageant aspect. I liked seeing the characters in different costumes; especially Atia. I mean she seemed like kind of a bitch, but she was wearing a maid lingerie outfit! I’m not made of stone, and I liked that we see an aspect to her personality where even her friends acknowledge that she’s abnormal. Maybe she has a costume fetish or something. Plus the whole Satellizer winning the pageant made me think “I guess she’s the only tsundere in West Genetics” which would also explain why everyone simply thinks she’s a cold-hearted person. If all you’re getting is “tsun tsun” then clearly you’re not the protagonist for that particular tsundere. A more interesting note is Elizabeth’s comment on how Chiffon said they needed potential useful fighers. After seeing how ridiculously strong Chiffon was last episode it makes you wonder why she doesn’t really look a ticked off Satella in the eye. It would seem that at the very least Chiffon recognizes her strength, or she doesn’t think Satella is as bad as the rumors state. The omake pic for this week is a Maid Satella!!! The artist is a man after my own heart; though I would’ve left her glasses on.
