Summary:

The academy continues their attack on the invading Novas. Elise-sensei is fighting alone against a Nova and is having a hard time. Using her twin dagger Volt Weapon she prepares to tear away at the Nova, but before she can Yumi-sensei strikes the Nova. Yumi came to back up Elise after the 3rd platoon defeated the third Nova. Back in the command center, they’ve detected the enemy Pandoras in Ravensborne Nucleotide passing level 8 and quickly advancing. Paths are being blocked in order to herd the enemy Pandoras towards the main defensive line. Standing guard at the defensive line are Ingrid Bernstein, Atia Simones, Cleo Brand, and Arnett Macmillan.

Sister Margarett tells them that the enemy is headed towards the Sacred Body located inside Ravensborne Nucleotide. Kazuya’s team of Arthur, Ganessa, Rana, and Satella hear this, and Ganessa nervously comments that it’s natural her as the academy’s rank 1 to be entrusted with such an important artifact. Satella corrects her by telling her that the 3rd years are above them and they are in fact in the safest position as they are the last line of defense like all the rest of the 2nd years. Ganessa stares at her and comments that Satella is more talkative than usual and wonders if it’s because she feels uneasy.

The enemy Pandoras reach the main defensive line and the Limiters use Freezing on them, but they are able to break free of their Freezing and proceed to take out the Limiters. Atia goes in and attacks with her morning star Volt Weapon, Elegant Twirl. Everyone else follows suit, but 2 of the enemy Pandoras use Accel and move on towards Ravensborne Nucleotide. Arnett is about to give chase, but Sister Margarett tells them to let them go and give priority to keeping the current enemies at bay as there are other Pandoras in the area to intercept them. The 2 enemy Pandoras are rerouted to the next defensive line, which consists of Elizabeth Maybury and her Limiter. Elizabeth uses her Volt Weapon, Stigma Satellite System and strikes at the stigmata on the chest of one of the enemy Pandoras. Doing this reverses their transformation, and Elizabeth passes on the information to headquarters. This information is passed on to Atia’s team and they start to take out the enemy Pandoras. The only enemy Pandora left is Cassie Lockharte, who escapes using Accel to the lower levels.

Kazuya’s team encounters Cassie on her way to Ravensborne Nucleotide. Cassie pierces Rana first, but Rana strikes at her while being impaled in her left shoulder. Cassie quickly recovers and starts up her Accel. Rana and Satella follow suit, but Ganessa who can’t use Accel yet is left open to Cassie’s attacks. Rana takes an attack intended for Ganessa and tells her to run for it, as she’s a hindrance if she can’t use Accel. Cassie uses Freezing, but is nullified by Kazuya. Satella tells Kazuya to back off and that she doesn’t need him. She proceeds to take on Cassie, but is overwhelmed by Cassie. Cassie is about to deliver the finishing blow when Satella sprouts large stigma wings on her back and uses an Accel the looks similar to a Tempest Turn to strike at the stigma on Cassie’s chest.

Cassie regains a little bit of her consciousness before the stigma takes control again. Satella’s stigma quickly spread across her body and she proceeds to enter into an Accel battle against Cassie. In the end Cassie comes out winning, but is stopped by Kazuya’s Freezing before she can critically hit Satella. Kazuya tells her that she wasn’t this type of person and manages to reach her. Satella tells him to stop and that she doesn’t need him, but he tells her that he needs her. Satella then realizes that Kazuya didn’t see her as his sister’s replacement, but as his partner and someone important that he wants to protect. She then feels thankful to her stigmas that led her to Kazuya and declares that she won’t lose to anyone, and someday she won’t even lose to Aoi Kazuha. Cassie breaks free of Kazuya’s Freezing and is about to strike at Satella, but stops. Cassie struggles to regain consciousness, and begs Satella to stop her.

On the upper levels Cleo, Arnett, and Atia rush to Elizabeth’s side, where she’s lying down next to one of the fallen enemy Pandoras. The enemy Pandora gets up and gets ready to attack; apparently the wound was too shallow.

Opinions:

So this episode solidifies what I’ve thought. This series will end with Kazuya and Satella mending their relationship, and continue fighting Novas. Action was pretty decent; I was expecting more screen time for Elizabeth since her parts in the manga were pretty badass. Next week’s episode is the last one and it concludes the Nova arc and I can say with confidence that the manga is better. There was ample attention paid to Cassie and you get a better backstory for her so you can better sympathize with her. The anime did what it could given the amount of time they had, but the manga really fleshes out her character. That aside, based on this week’s omake pic I’m kinda looking forward to next week’s omake pic for some reason. Kazuya stuck between Satella’s breasts isn’t anything new, but it feels like I can expect (or should expect) something amazing for the last omake pic. It bothers me!!!! It needs to be something risqué! Something moe!!!
