Summary:

In the lower levels of the academy Chiffon Fairchild and Tichie Fenille intercept one of the enemy Pandoras. The two materialize their Volt Weapons, Tichie materializes a large claymore and Chiffon materializes a large gauntlet on her right hand, and get ready to attack. Elsewhere Satella is about to take a massive attack from Cassie, but Ganessa steps in front to protect her from the blast. Ganessa loses an arm and begins to lose consciousness from the damage. Satella gets up and wonders why that even though she never thought of anyone as a friend, she feels so pissed. Satella then starts sprouting large stigmas on her back and goes berserk. In a lab somewhere someone is monitoring Satella and notes that the stigmas in her are spreading and assimilating with her. She easily overpowers Cassie, slices off bother of her arms, and rips out her Nova core. Satella nearly finishes Cassie off, but is stopped by Kazuya who doesn’t want to see her kill a friend of his. Satella comes to her senses and she’s able to stop the stigmas from taking over. Arthur yells for Kazuya to come over and tells everyone that Ganessa is still alive. On the floor, Cassie asks Satella why she didn’t kill her and Satella tells her that she didn’t want Kazuya to be disappointed in her.

In the aftermath of Cassie and Satella’s fight, the 3rd year students arrive after having taken care of the other enemy Pandora. Tichie contacts headquarters to let them know that the entire enemy Pandoras have been taken care of. Sister Margarett asks about the Novas, and it seems only 1 is left, but its core is half destroyed and it’s only a matter of time before its demise. Yumi and Elise are about to finish off the last Nova, but it disappears.  The Nova reappears near the Sacred Body by using the core of the enemy Pandoras to get the coordinates. The Nova approaches the Sacred Body, but all of the Pandoras arrive in time and are about to fight it. Satella also prepares to fight the Nova, but the core she ripped out of Cassie starts to glow and begins to infect her. Satella gets taken over by the stigma and uses Freezing on everyone. Rana asks if all they can do is watch as the Nova takes the Sacred Body, but all the 3rd year students smile and say they can’t do that. All the 3rd year students activate Pandora mode and start moving within the Freezing area, but Satella’s Freezing suddenly gets stronger and cancels out the Pandora’s Pandora mode.

As Satella is being taken over by the stigma, her heart is calling out for someone to save her. Kazuya hears it and stops her from fighting with the other Pandoras by Freezing her. Kazuya tells her that he believes in her. Satella hears this and meets Aoi Kazuha in her mindspace. Kazuha tells her to protect the people important to her and that the stigmas have the power to do that. Satella then regains consciousness and breaks free from the stigma’s control. Kazuya’s Freezing then extends to the Nova, and everyone comments that he and Satella are using the Ereinbar Set and Rana comments that it feels warm. Now free of the Freezing, everyone starts attacking the Nova and Satella finishes it off. In the mysterious lab, someone comments that it wasn’t a mistake to choose that girl.

In the aftermath of the battle, Satella tells Kazuya that she met his sister. The next day, Kazuya sees Cassie off. In the helicopter Cassie tells her instructor that she’ll join the Chevalier. When asked why, she tells her that she was reminded of how a Pandora should live, and states that she’ll still write while doing that. Kazuya and Rana go to visit Ganessa in the hospital and find Satella there. Satella thanks Ganessa and leaves while telling Kazuya to come to her room later. Ganessa comments that the “Untouchable Queen” has changed, as the old her would never have done something like thank her. That night Satella struggles to decide what to wear for her and Kazuya’s baptism. Kazuya and Rana come in and see Satella in her lingerie and Rana, assuming that Satella plans to seduce Kazuya using sex appeal, declares that she won’t lose to anyone and strips to her underwear. Later Sister Margarett talks with Aoi Kengo about how the stigmas are double-edged swords, and Aoi Kengo comments that it’s because they’re double-edged swords that they’ll give birth to stronger Pandoras.

Opinions:

Well the episode covered chapters 35-37 of the manga. It was done ok given that they were rushing to finish everything by episode 12. The only complaint is that everything is rushed. The fight was shorter than I had hoped and the fight with the Novas was clichéd with everyone coming together and Satella meeting Aoi Kazuha. Overall the series felt like it was showing that Satella has changed since meeting Kazuya and in a way that’s probably the theme. I just would have liked it if they put off on doing the anime for a few more arcs in the manga so they could’ve aimed to do a proper 24-26 episode anime, because it just feels like everything just gets better from here. That said I was interested in the mysterious doctor that Sister Margarett names as “Aoi Kengo”. I can’t remember if this is mentioned in the manga or not, but judging by the name we can assume he might have a connection to Kazuya and Kazuha. Since they brought that up, a second season seems possible. I just hope they wait for more of the source material to come out before they do. I like to end this post by commenting on the adorable omake pic this episode. It’s a super cute and sexy picture of Chiffon Fairchild! I wish I knew who the artist was because it’s everything I didn’t know I wanted till I saw it! I need that picture on my phone, and with today’s technology it shall be!
