Summary:

One day during lunch Ueno’s girlfriend, Oka tries to become friends with Urabe and asks her if she wants to have lunch together. Urabe declines at first and goes back to sleep; though she allows Oka to eat lunch at her desk where she’s sleeping. As Oka eats her lunch, Urabe wakes up to the delicious smells of Oka’s lunch. This leads Oka to offer Urabe some of her lunch; which Urabe accepts and eats.  After school, as Akira and Urabe perform their usual ritual, Akira mentions that Oka seemed to want to be friends with Urabe. Urabe tells him though that she doesn’t need friends because she has him as her boyfriend.

The next day during PE class, Urabe injures her right knee. Since Oka is the nurse’s office representative, she takes Urabe to the nurse’s office. At the nurse’s office, Oka puts on some anti-septic and bandage on Urabe’s wounds. Afterwards she takes some cider she left in the fridge and drinks it. She offers Urabe some, which she drinks. After sharing the bottle, Urabe notices that a wound appearing on Oka’s knee in the exact same spot where Urabe’s wound was. Urabe takes an x-acto knife and cuts her left hand. She then sticks her finger into her mouth and asks Oka to taste her drool. Oka does so, and a wound appears on Oka’s left hand. Urabe explains that it seems that she and Oka share a bond similar to the one she has with her boyfriend. Oka asks if her boyfriend is Akira, and Urabe is surprised that she knew. Oka explains that she saw Akira and Urabe performing their ritual before so that’s how she had a feeling about it. It’s also the reason she approached Urabe, because she was curious about their bond. Oka asks if their bond means they’re friends. Urabe tells her though that she doesn’t need friends. Later that day, Urabe and Akira perform their usual ritual, and Akira receives a wound on his right knee and left hand. Urabe apologizes to him because she forgot that would happen.

The next day Oka meets Urabe during lunch and asks her to taste her drool. Urabe does so and comments that it was sweeter than anything she ever tasted. Oka comments that Urabe hasn’t gone that far with Akira, and tells Urabe that she was imagining her first kiss with her boyfriend when she had Urabe taste her drool and concludes that means that Urabe and Akira haven’t kissed yet. Oka also once again asks Urabe if she wants to have lunch together since she made a lot. Urabe comments that normally she doesn’t eat lunch, but since she ate her lunch before it seems like her hunger pattern has changed. Oka asks her if it’s ok for them to eat lunch together from now on. Akira and Ueno are walking around together and they see Urabe and Oka together with Oka feeding Urabe.

Opinions:

So this episode, Urabe finally makes a friend (unofficially to Urabe anyway). It’s a good thing too, Urabe having someone to talk to other than Akira opens it up to some girl talk and give more options for story and character interacti0n. I liked the episode as it really showed Oka working hard to get Urabe’s friendship. Though she doesn’t “officially” have it yet, she’s definitely close. I can’t wait to see more Oka and Urabe interacations; and I found it amusing how Oka was commenting to Urabe that she hasn’t gone that far with Akira compared to herself and her boyfriend. If Urabe were a different character, I’m sure that would’ve made her rush her first kiss with Akira similar to last episode. Next episode is a beach episode and we all know what that means!
