Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm a must-see for SNK Fighting Game Fans!

There’s currently a campaign on Indiegogo to help fund the Western release of a game made by a bunch of the people who worked on the King of Fighters series. The game is called Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm and it looks amazing. Visually it looks more akin to Samurai Showdown than KoF. The gameplay goes without saying, but the music is also pretty awesome. I’m really excited about this game and I’m hoping the crowd funding succeeds. The only grip I have is that you need to put in $60 minimum for the game and the digital artbook. Since it’s a digital artbook you think they could lower the price. Right now they goal is $68,000 and they’re at $51,132 with 9 days to go. I hope they meet that goal, and if we’re lucky they can exceed that goal and start talking about console release for this game (currently they’re talking about releasing it on the PC). If you’re a fighting game fanatic, checking out this game is a must! You can find out more about the game at their Indiegogo page.

Snapshot – Muv-Luv: Total Eclipse Episode 5

So this episode looks to conclude Yuuya’s “training” as it seems he has better control “if not mastered” his TSF. But for me the big draw was seeing Tarisa as a catgirl maid! If I’m not mistaken this is the first instance of “fan service” in the series thus far? I gotta say, I had different expectations going into this series since I was familiar with Muv-luv but not too familiar with the Muv-luv Alternative franchise. It’s completely different since Muv-luv is a highschool romcom. But the story for Total Eclipse and the characters really won me over and it’s becoming even better than I thought it would be! Can’t wait for the next episode!

Rokko Chan, Music, Megaman, Kickstart and You

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I recently was informed of an interesting Mega Man-style game (well style is putting it subtly) called Rokko Chan. It’s a nice flash game that’s pretty much Mega Man and it gets me through the free time of my day at work. This is a beautifully made game that takes a lot of the stuff I love about Mega Man and does it right (with of course different characters). You can try the game out here. I found about the game through a kickstarter for the music of the game. Needless to say, I put in. I don’t really like doing this, but because I really believe in the project and want it to become a reality, I’m asking for anyone reading this to check out the kickstarter page here and give if you can. There’s a lot of good tracks and there’s  a lot of good people involved in the project such Mega Ran,  Metroid Metal, Mutherpluckin’ B, and Asagen to name a few (that I know of). Seriously, if you like game music take a look and give what you can. (I really want that mega man style CD) This post is a little selfish, but the project is really awesome and I whole-heatedly believe in it. So give today! There’s only less than 2 days left as of the date of this post!

Misaka Figma Review

I finally got my Misaka Figma in the mail today! Went through a bit of trouble to get this one, since it’s only sold on Dengeki’s Online store Degekiya. The figma is more or less exactly like the Mikoto Figma save for the accessoreis, different faces, and the modification to the hair so it can house the trademark goggles of “Radio Noise”. I’m really glad to have one of these figmas, especially since there were only 20,000 made. They’ve even included a nice disctinction for each figure via a sticker on the bottom of the stand:

Since I’m still in the middle of learning Japanese I’m not too sure of the meaning other than the fact that the top says Radio Noise (In Katakana with the Kanji underneath it) and I’m fairly certain the Kanji in the lower right corner is a number. If anyone’s willing to translate the meaning of the sticker and the information regarding it on picture below, it would help out a lot.

Now I have some news regarding this that may interest some of you. During my quest to get the figma I’ve purchased it via two sites to ensure I got one since both of them didn’t give me a guarantee that I’d get it. As it turns out I got a figma from both sites so I have 2 Misaka figmas! One’s enough for me and I’d like to get some money back from the other one so I’m selling it. Not sure if eBay is really the best way anymore since they tax you now from what I hear. In any case if anyone is interested in buying the figma let me know. I’d like to sell it for $100 + shipping if possible. I’d like a fellow Misaka fan to give her a good home! If there’s any takers leave a comment, and I’ll get back to you via e-mail. I’m doing this as a last resort before I go onto eBay to sell her. I’m hoping I can do this person to person via PayPal.

KamiNomi Character CDs

Yep, like I thought. They’re doing character CDs. Paid a visit to the KamiNomi Wiki. They have all the information on the CDs: release dates, song lists, etc.  Elcea’s came out first, and Ayumi’s comes out Nov. 17. So pretty soon. The only one I feel I’ll get so far is Kanon’s character CD; since they’ve played some of her songs in the anime. I liked her songs enough too; the only thing for me is that I’m not seeing “All4You” in the song list for Kanon’s character CD. Hopefully it is, and wouldn’t you know it, Kanon’s is the last one to come out; December 15. That’s still a little whiles away. Hopefully it’ll have “All4You”; I’ll need to see if I can find Ayumi’s character song in the anime or find samples online somewhere. I have a feeling I might be interested in hers too.

Ah, you can find all the Character CD information at the KamiNomi wiki at:
