Summary:

After losing consciousness from blood loss, Kinjirou wakes up to see Masamune and gets up to find Subaru. Masamune helps him out by driving Kinjirou around on her scooter. Kinjirou has her drop him off near the onsen inn that he visited during summer break. Kinjirou finds Subaru behind the shrine and tries to get Subaru to come home, but Subaru tells him that there’s nothing for her even if she goes home and tells Kinjirou that she doesn’t want to go home tonight. Kinjirou calls Kanade to let her know that he and Subaru will be spending the night at the inn. That night Subaru and Kinjirou sleep in the same room and Subaru asks Kinjirou if he would want to do something more than kissing, but Kinjirou tells her that any boy would want to but he can’t because of his condition. Subaru tells him that if it would be fine if it was him, and Kinjirou gets surprised by this but tells her they shouldn’t do it because they can and that it’s something they should do when you want to be with a person from the bottom of your heart. With that they start to go to sleep, and Subaru gets into Kinjirou’s futon. Kinjirou gets excited but Subaru kicks him and tells him that she only wanted to sleep together.

Kinjirou and Subaru spend the night holding hands, and Subaru tells Kinjirou that her mother would do this when she couldn’t’ sleep as a child. Subaru tells Kinjirou that she’ll go home in the morning, but she can’t be a butler anymore. Kinjirou tells her it’s fine for her to be a girl. The next morning, Nagare and Kanade pick them up and Nagare immediately grabs Kinjirou and questions him to see if anything happened. At home, Kinjirou gets a scolding from Kureha. At school, the S4 and Subaru Watchers Club are morning the loss of Subaru as they’ve heard that Subaru quit being butler and transferred out. In Kureha and Nakuru’s class, a transfer student joins the class, Takanashi Punyuru. Kureha and Nakuru are happy to see her and Kinjirou is surprised to see her. “Punyuru” meets Kinjirou on the rooftop for lunch. Kinjirou comments that she looks a little down and asks her if she wants to return to being a butler. Subaru tells him she’d like to she can’t. She comments that she thought that living as a normal girl would be fun, but it’s lonely and she should be protecting and supporting Kanade; though she comments that it was Kanade and her job that supported her. Kinjirou tells her that he understands and asks her to leave it to him to fix the problem.

Kinjirou goes to the S4 headquarters where he begs the S4 for help in getting Subaru her job as a butler back. Kinjirou and the S4 hand out petitions to get Subaru reinstated as a butler. The next day Subaru comes back to school as a butler, and Kanade tells Nakuru and Kureha that Punyuru has transferred out. Kanade thanks Kinjirou for his help in supporting Subaru and asks him if he would protect her too and says that she also likes….. and trails off. That night home Subaru calls Kinjirou to meet her at the park. At the park Subaru is wearing a dress and waiting for Kinjirou. Subaru has called Kinjirou to thank him for helping her to be a butler again. Kinjirou tells her that he’s happy to see her in better spirits. Subaru asks Kinjirou to close his eyes, but Kinjirou tells her that they’re best friends. Subaru tells him that right now she’s not a butler but the girl Subaru who wants to thank him. Kinjirou hesitates, but Kanade comes out of hiding and tells Subaru to hurry up and kiss him otherwise she will. Subaru grabs Kinjirou and kisses Kinjirou and Kinjirou gets a nosebleed and loses consciousness, and Subaru comments that they have to get rid of his gynophobia or they can’t go any further.

Opinions:

This was a pretty good episode. It would’ve made for a good season closer, but there’s still another episode left. Well this episode did have a  big moment in Kinjirou and Subaru first real kiss. It also interesting to see Kanade act all dere dere around Kinjirou and we finally hear concrete evidence that she likes Kinjirou as well so that’s something. Next episode is the final for the 1st season and it’s all about Nakuru! So I’m expecting a catgirl episode with lots of BL filler.
