A few weeks ago I posted on the few manga references that was made based on Bush, and wondered how Obama would be recieved. Low and behold, now we know. The Japanese thinks Obama can!!!! He was referenced in To Aru Majutsu no Index in episode 15, and more recently made an appearance in Air Gear 226 and 227. So how’s he betrayed? Not goofy or irrational as Bush holding a pretzel. No, no, Obama’s confident and Charismatic. Nothing really to poke fun at, and that’s good. I can only hope this dignity for the new president and the country continues throughout his term.

Summary:

I just got a look at Maria+Holic and I’m a little intrigued, at first I thought it’d be like Maria-sama ga Miteru and I thought I’d pass. But once I heard the main protagonist is acutally a guy I decided to check it out. I thought it was weird for it to take that much to get me to watch it myself. Anyhow I’ll divulge the details later, all I’ll say right now is I like Maria, he’s sadistic and hilarious to watch and I love Marina Inoue playing the maid with a vulgar mouth it’s a delight and frightening to see at the same time!

Da Capo if OVA 1 AKA A dream come true!

Oh man~! Almost missed this one! For all you Kotori fans out there, this is the must-have series of Da Capo!! We finally get her story, I don’t think Jun’ichi deserves her, but he makes her happy dammit T_T. I’m really stoked on this, I’ll put up the write-up in a bit!

All right I finished watching. So it turns out that Jun’ichi is with Kotori because Nemu’s dead; if you’re familiar with the game storylines then I suppose this move makes sense. In any case I wanted a Kotori ended for a looong while, so if any Nemu fans find this OVA offensive consider this: you guys had 2 seasons of Nemu endings and us Kotori fans have had 0. In any case I really feel for Kotori at the end there; she won, but it’s like being declared the winner after the real first place died off. Well it’s exactly like that with a feeling of hollow victory, and you know what? That really hurts more than losing.

Bye-Bye Mr. Bush~!

As all Americans know (and some of us have been counting the days), starting 2009 we say goodbye to soon-to-be-former President Bush. I’d like to take this time to do a little salute to the influences Mr. Bush has had on the image of this country in relation to some manga I’ve read during his term in office.

Well for better or worse these are the impressions that the world has on America during the Bush administration. Personally I think bush would be eating BBQ or a burrito instead of a pretzel, but it’s Yakitate that probably wanted to insert some kind of bread.
