Gurren Lagann Kirameki Yoko Box – Pieces of Sweet Stars DVD Opened!

I finally got my Gurren Lagann Kirameki Yoko Box – Pieces of Sweet Stars DVD in the mail. This set really comes with a lot of extras, with the best one definately being the music video animated by Gainax!

The scenes are done quite well, my favorite scene in particular is where Yoko is working at the convenience store, and Kamina comes up to the counter. It just had a great feel for KaminaXYoko fans. The song itself is pretty good and quite catchy.

I found this while looking through my e-mail from J-List. Look at it! It’s  a 2GB USB Drive, and it’s a transformer! It’ true that for $40, it’s a little ridiculous to consider buying it, but if it were $20 it would probably be a sure buy. It reminds of the time that I passed on buying the Optimus Prime that could hold a Pepsi bottle, and yes I do regret it a little bit, I would almost regret not buying the Optimus Prime that carried a speaker for an ipod but it was just so damn expensive! In all honesty thought, If they can have a Soundwave figure that stores like 3 of these USB Drive transformers; considering the price, it just might be worth the buy….

Hinagiku Figurine: A Flat Chest is a Status Symbol!!

Look at the detail of that figurene; that’s the Hinagiku Swimwear Ver. Figurine from Kotobukiya! I realize this figure has been out for quite a while, and while I’ve tried to fight the urge to buy it a certain post has me in awe at the detail and sheer greatness of this figure. So great in fact, the creator of Hayate no Gotoku Kenjiro Hata made a short strip praising the figure. The figure is flat-chested, as is Hina; though I suppose it’s a strength in this case since the details on everything from body lines to the details on her face. It truly is a flat-chested marvel (not in a bad way nor in any way a shot at Hina).

Now it’s a great figure, and as summer is quickly approaching, a thought pops into my mind “I should buy this!”. I mean the creator is praising this figure! So if I buy any Hayate no Gotoku figurine it should be one that got the creator to mention it in a comic strip right!?!? Also my birthday is coming up in July, so this can be an early gift (from myself to myself). It’s ok to spoil yourself every now and again! The only problem I can think of is that this will spark (what I like to call) “the If-you-give-a-mouse-a-cookie” paradox! If I buy this figurine, I’ll probably want this:

This shirt caught my eye on  a site where I also found the figurine, granted if I also get the shirt it’ll snowball from there. There’s also the logical side of my brain telling me to think about how I’ll look in public wearing this. Sure you’ll get some praise at an anime con, but in the general public a 25 year old male wearing a shirt with a little girl on it……well I’m sure we all know what kind of looks and reactions that’d get. Well let me know what you think on this; especially the shirt since I find buying it to be a conflict between hobbies and common sense.

Otaku Therapy: It’s OK to buy a Japanese Game Right!?

Hey there, it’s been a while since I’ve left the fate of my wallet up to you readers! I was looking through this month’s Issue of G’s Magazine ( I’ll post it up soon) and  the urge to buy has taken me once again! My dilemma this time? Should I buy the To Heart 2 Portable for PSP coming out? My knowledge of the Japanese language thus far goes up to knowing Hiragana and Katakana and a few beginner’s Kanji characters, but I’m still learning! So even if I buy the game and don’t understand it,  a time will come when I someday do right!? So it’s ok to buy it right!? Here’s some of the screens:

 

It’s the typical dating sim set up; I don’t know why, but there’s a part of me that says I should get it! Limited edition is $89.90 and the bundled edition$69.90; no idea what comes in either yet. Also, I’m wondering should I get Utawarerumon Portable too?

It also legitimately looks like a great tactics game! The only real drawback is that I know little Japanese; is this a big enough of a wall though is the question! The limited edition is $74.90 and comes with a deck of cards, a tote bag, and what seems to be a cell phone strap.

 

On that note, while I’m aware of Utawarerumono; I am ashamed to say I haven’t seen the anime yet. Therefore, should I buy the box set $47.59?

Otaku Therapy Corner: Help me make a “rational” decision on what to buy!!!

Ok, I’m gonna start what I’m gonna call my “Otaku Therapy Corner”. Why? Because I’m sure some of you are like me and experience jolts of impulses to buy some item you see online and end up in $4000 debt, still optimistic that you don’t have a problem. Today’s topic? I’d like for those willing to voice an opinion, to help me rationalize on whether or not to purchase the following items:

Reason why I want it so bad: For those of you who have seen my post, you know this baby comes with a Tama-nee pillow cover. Sad reason? Probably. Good enough reason? You betcha! *Sigh* I’m sure there’s more people like me out there, we need to support each other to get through these tough buying habbits; or at least support each other so we feel better about these buying decisions

Reason why I want it so bad:  It’s not a huge reason, it’s just Yoko dressed up and with a few songs on the accompanying CD, an interview with Yoko’s seiyū Marina Inoue. Sure it doesn’t sound like I really want it, if I put it that way; but let me tell you: I love Gurren Lagann, one of my favorite characters in it is Yoko, and I’m a huge fan of Marina Inoue’s.

Ok, here’s the thing on this; I can live with just buying one of these, but to be honest it’s a little hard. If I had to say it bluntly, I probably prefer the outro theme because of how they’re all dressed. Plus I like the song a little more. Is that a good enough reason? I don’t know, but the Otaku in me is screaming at me to buy it, so before I lose my mind and buy it, I need you viewers out there to either stop me, or enable me to buy it!
