IDOLM@STER SP

Yes! IDOLM@STER SP for psp has just been released a few days ago! February 19, 2009 in Japan, to be exact. (That’s the trailer up there by the way..) They released three separate games, each with three different (or with the case of the twins, four) idols to choose from. I’m still deciding which version I should get. Personally, I’m a fan of Yukiho, so I’ll probably get Wandering Star.

Perfect Sun has Haruka, Yayoi, and Makoto.

Missing Moon has Chihaya, Azusa, and Ritsuko.

Wandering Star (or is it Wondering Star?) has Yukiho, Ami/Mami, and Iori.

There’s also talk about a 4th(!!!) release that will have Miki and two NEW idols. Yikes. I don’t have enough money to buy all of them.. *sniff*  Heck, I even heard of PSP-PS3 compatibility, but this feature seems likely only in Japan. =(

This Month’s Dengeki Gs magazine’s cover spotlights Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na -Moonlight Cradle- with one of the heroines Estel Freesia on the cover. Estel made her first appearence on the PS2 version of Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na while she is now making her debut on the PC with -Moonlight Cradle-

The coverage on the game includes a review of the heroines and a small summary of their respective summary routs. The extra for this month is a pencil board featuring Feena on one Side and the new heroine Cynthia Marguerite on the other.

Not bad, not bad, I for one am looking forward to the game. The reason the game’s featured on the cover probably has to do with it being ranked first this month as you can see on the image below

That’s all I got right now. I’m kinda stuck with whether I should scan the rest of the pages I planned to, or take a picture, or finding some other method of getting the images. The problem with scanning can be seen with the image above, the parts near the binding show up blurred. The problem with taking a picture with a camera is probably a slight decrease in picture quality. If anyone has a suggestion on getting better picture quality that doesn’t involve cutting out pages of the magazine I’ll try it out. (I’d take out the pages if I had a spare copy, but I don’t have that kind of money to buy an extra copy to scan)……..(unless you guys are willing to donate $15 a month for me to scan one) Well that’s just a suggestion, I can always raffle off the scan copy afterwards with its extras. In any case till I can figure a way out to properly get pictures, I’ll hold off on further images. Rest assured though, they will come out once a solution has been found!

If anyone reads Kotaku then I’m sure you may have come acorss their post on a certain Xbox 360 game coming out in Japan where you virtually visit a hostess bar and interact with the hostesses there. The name of the game is Dream Club and it pretty much follows the path of other dating sim games of “choose a girl” “get to know her” and eventually you get the girl. The only difference with this game is that alcohol plays a factor in the aptly named “Interactive Inshu System” IIS with Insu being Japanese for alcohol, and the effects of this system being “Emotional Talk System” ETS which assigns conversation topic options to the  X, A, and B keys.   Continue reading ‘Virtual Hostess Bar game “Dream Club” for the underage!! Summary:

The Date Eiji vs. Ricardo Martinez Title match continues. Date gets the first hit on Martinez, and continues attacking trying to prevent Martinez from gaining his pace. Martinez guards as Date contines his assault; Martinez lands a hit on Date’s face, but Date turns his head at the same time reducing its effect. The match eventually becomes a competion of lefts till the 1st round ends with both boxers about to unleash their rights. Takamura comments that the 2nd round will be determined by their right punches, while in his corner Date comments to his second that he’s worried, since the next round is the same round he lost in the last time he fought Martinez. Martinez says he’ll end it this round and the second round begins. As the gong sounds, the audience is quiet as everyone is aware that this is the round Date lost in, and Takamura remarks that if Date can make it past this then he’ll have surpassed his old self. Martinez starts attacking and Date pulls off a few head slips to slip away, but Martinez keeps a close follow on him. Now it’s Martinez comencing his attack on Date, and eventually lands  a good counter with a body blow on Date.  Martinez comments that many a man has fallen too his body blows and that there is no shame in it. Date however, grits his teeth and launches a counter-attack. Martinez is surprised by this developement and questions if Date has fought someone with harder punches than his, which he finds hard to believe, but can’t find any other explaination for Date’s toughness. The 2nd rounds ends and the crowd goes wild, and Date remarks that he’s surpassed himself and soon will surpass the champion. In his corner Martinez comments that the right he threw was his best and yet Date was able to endure it, because of this Martinez has recognized Date and announces to his second that he will start going seriously from her on out. As the 3rd round starts Martinez starts viciously attacking and Date can’t find the right timing, the crowd is surprised at the complete style change in Martinez and Takamura comments that while he’s surprised, this current fighting style must be Martinez’s original style. Martinez’ second comments that Date Eiji made the mistake of having Martinez recognize him, that technique isn’t enough for the world, there are times when one must have the strength and will to paint the ring red with blood.

Martinez continues his assault on Date, while Date’s face slowly begins to swell and eventually the gong rings and the round ends. In his corner, Date asks what round it is, his second tells him to calm down and the next round is the 9th round. It also seems like Date’s ribs have been fractured. In Martinez corner, he asks his second Bill if his punches are light, he wonders how Date is able to endure. His second believes it be revenge or even for the dream of wearing the belt, Martinez doesn’t believe this to be so as he’s fought countless mean with both of these as motiviation and all have fallen to him and comments that Date’s eyes are eyes filled with despair and wonders what pushes him. In the stands Kimura comments that it’s hopeless and it’s not like Date has a magic punch to turn the match around. Ippo remarks that he does, the Heartbreak Shot, and Takamura comments that probably the reason that Date hasn’t launched a single punch at Martinez’s chest yet, and if Date can pull it off then the whole match can get turned around as the Heartbreak Shot would cause Martinez to freeze for a few seconds which would be plenty of time to start a counter-attack. As the gong sounds Martinez continues his onslaught and it’s starting to seem like Date won’t be able to pull it off, but Date pulls a headslip and pulls a weak left on Martinez’s guard. Martinez notices Date twisting his fist to prepare a Corkscrew punch and guards his head leaving his chest wide open.  Takamura comments that it’s a perfect scenario and Date begins to throw his Corscrew aimed at Martinez’s heart with the episode ending right before his punch lands.

Opinions:

Man I love Ippo episodes I get all pumped even though I’ve read the manga chapter of this many times. Watching the episode reminded how much tactics can play in a fight even when you’re fighting someone stronger than you. Date’s enduring a beating waiting for that one brief moment to turn it around. Sometimes those chances come sometimes they don’t they are gambles, but it’s not like the odds are 0% you can pull that lucky moment off. Hell I just had one of those moments yesterday Playing Street Fighter 4. I was Ken, other guy was Saggat. Both are lives are down to 10% and he starts pulling a super on me, as soon as I see it I try to pull one off too, well I was trying to pull off a desperate Shoryuuken and it came out as a super making for an awesome looking comeback. Well, anyways I’ve decided to start blogging Ippo for the time being till next season, unless someone really wants me to continue Ippo, because you know I will if there’s a demand for it.

Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) scans

Got a new scan for the upcoming Monter Hunter 3 for the Wii! Click on the thumbnail for a better look!

On the top, we see the new T-rex… *AHEM* I mean the rock-like Boruborosu. That thing looks huge, doesn’t it? Reminds me a bit of our old friend, the rocky Basarios, from Monster Hunter 2. That desert looks hot… remind me to bring lots of cold water along with me when I fight that thing.

On the bottom, we have our fishy friend, the Ragiakurusu! What do you think about a showdown between the Plesioth and this guy? Looks like he’ll be a pain to fight, being underwater and all. I don’t see how hunters can still swim underwater while carrying a gigantic sword… and also swing at the monster with enough force to kill it… but hey, I won’t complain.

Oh, the monster in the middle looks like the Rathian. She’s back to say hello to us again. See, she’s smiling at us! My… what big teeth… and fiery breath you have…

Looks like Monster Hunter 3 will be awesomely fun. Just hope it gets brought over to the US.

Oh, and the second page is another scan with Monster Hunter G and プンコちヤん!

Let’s enjoy hunting, みなさん!!!

Hatsune Miku : Project DIVA Preview

Aaah, I just can’t wait till this game comes out! It’s a PSP game that features Hatsune Miku! What surprises me is that Sega is in charge of the project. (Yay Sega!) From the looks of it, it’s a rhythm game with some room customization features. I’d assume that as you play the game, you earn points to get more things for your room…. Seems simple, yet addictive.

miku

I’m glad to see Hatsune Miku in her own game. Since the release of Vocaloid 2, she’s had a giant growing fanbase (Just check Nico Nico Douga or Youtube and you’ll see tons of videos with her, all mostly fanmade).

Release date says it comes out sometime in 2009. No exact date yet it seems… but I’ll be sure to get it once it comes out! I’ll put out a review once I get a copy.

Dissidia

I just got a chance to try out the recent PSP game, Dissidia : Final Fantasy, and I have to say that I’m addicted to it. Right now the game is only out for Japan, but the game is set for a US release around mid-July. You don’t need to know Japanese to enjoy the game, but it does help a lot, especially when setting specific skills to certain characters.

To begin, Dissidia is an action fighting game, but with Final Fantasy characters from I to XII to choose from. It’s also not like the traditional 2D fighting game, as this game uses a 3D environment. It’s a bit like that arcade game, Virtual On. It features a fast paced, 1 on 1 battle system where the characters run around on the stage and attack each other. The controls aren’t too complicated and it’s fairly intuitive. You use the PSP analog stick to move around, the X button to jump, the square and circle buttons to attack, and the triangle button to do special movements (like running up walls and dashing at your enemy). There are two ways to attack your enemy, by either pounding away at their HP, or by damaging their BP. HP are the standard health points which you have to deplete to 0 in order to win. BP stands for brave points, which is basically the character’s offensive attack power. By attacking BP, you subtract the enemy’s BP while adding to your own. The amount of BP you have is the amount of damage you would do with an HP attack to the enemy. Make sense? Ah well… it’s probably not as complicated as I made it sound.

What I like about the game is that it gives a chance to actually play my favorite Final Fantasy characters in an action-based environment instead of just commanding them to “Attack.” There’s a whole variety of different customizations you can do and many different things to level up. Characters learn new attack and support skills, and there are plenty of items and equipment to find. The story seems pretty decent (from what I can tell from my limited knowledge of Japanese), and it’s cool to see all the characters interact with each other. Overall, I think Final Fantasy fans will love this game. I’m just eagerly awaiting the US release so I can actually understand everything…

At School Kakeru is fighting off his male classmates as they seem to be attacking him because they heard he spent the night at Najimi’s and this adds to the existing jealousy involving him living with Melon. Kakeru remarks that him living with Melon is nothing, and before things escalates any more Melon kicks Kakeru inquiring on the previous remark. Kakeru argues that Melon’s immediate reaction is violence and continues on that point, which leads to Melon punching him with her “Melon-punch”. As Najimi comes into the classroom she notices the tab on Melon’s left ear. The new teacher appears to be Kizaki to Kakeru, Najimi, and Melon’s surprise. Kakeru questions Kizaki on the reason for her being there, and as he suspected she’s there on orders from Otoyo. Except she is at the school in regards to another Akikan owner.

– Ok, after some consideration, and some time trying to catch up in my Business Finance class, I’ve decided to blog Akikan. The key factor being it isn’t one of the main animes being blogged. I wanted to blog this on behalf of the few that want to know what’s going on with this series as other blogs are focusing on other series. Truth be told, I was considering doing Toradora as I love it, and Kugumiya Rie is in it. But it’s already getting a lot of coverage, so unless I have people that want me specifically to blog it, I felt it’d be better use of my time to blog something not getting a lot of coverage

I’ll start the write-up after lunch.
