Summary:

Continuing from the last episode, Keima continues his “capture of Aoyama Mio. While outside her apartment, Keima finds out that Mio is no longer living a rich life. Since her father past away, her mother has been working hard so they’re able to make a small living in an apartment. Mio still has her pride as her father’s daughter and refuses to stop spending money as if she were still rich. Her servant gets frustrated with her attitude and leaves. As Mio goes out to chase him, Mio notices Keima outside her apartment room and gets all flustered as she revitalizes that Keima knows her secret now. Mio gets frustrated and goes back insider her home, slamming the door shut.

As Keima and Elcea walk home, Elcea comments that they’ve gotten off to a bad start again. Keima retorts that he doesn’t think so as he and Mio are now bound by the secret that she is no longer rich. The next day Keima greets Mio outside her apartment with a bicycle and starts calling her “oujousama”. Keima offers to drive her to school on a bike as he’s aware her servant left her. Mio refuses the offer, as everything about it seems too poor and common. Upon hearing this Elcea changes the bike into a rickshaw, and Mio finally gives in. Over the next few days, Keima continues to take Mio to school, and the size of the ricshaw gradually increases.

Eventually Elcea creates a rickshaw the size of a train, and Keima is unable to move it. This causes Mio to give Keima a “charm” by whipping him. As she whips him with a smiling face, Mio catches herself and returns to her sullen face and decides to walk the rest of the way to school. Elcea comments that what Mio is doing isn’t good for her as she’s spending money she doesn’t have and she doesn’t burn incense for her father. Keima comments that he thinks she’s a good girl based on the route he’s on, but feels something is holding her down.  At Mio’s apartment, Keima goes through her mail and finds an invitation to an upper class party addressed to Mio.  Keima tells Elcea he can see the ending.

The next day, Keima is late in picking up Mio from school. Keima takes Mio to the party, and prepared a dress for her. Mio is surprised that Keima found out about the party and calls for him. Keima comes out clad in a white suit and tells Mio that he thought that it must have been stuffy spending her time in an old apartment, and felt Mio would want to attend an upper-class event. Mio yells that they’re in the courtyard and not the party. Keima tells her he’s not confident in his dancing, and was hoping Mio could help him on that. Mio questions if Keima is planning to participate in the party, and informs him that this event is exclusive to rich and famous people. She continues informing him that she’s been to this party numerous times wither her papa. As soon as Mio remembers her father, she cuts off.

Elcea, wearing a café dress, interrupts and offers drinks. Keima takes her to the side and asks her why she’s wearing a café dress, and Elcea whines to him that she wanted to wear a  dress too. Mio gets jealous and drags Keima to the other side and questions whether or not he wants her to teach him to dance. The two dance around the fountain untill they are interrupted by some upper class men who give their condolences regarding Mio’s father and comment that it must be hard living in an apartment with her mother. As they leave they rudely comment on why Mio came, and assume she came for free food. Mio gets frustrated and angry at their comments, and Keima tells her it’s enough. Keima questions the value of clinging to the life of high society, but Mio retorts that she’s still rich. Keima tells her that she’s done enough and believes her father is satisfied. Keima tells her that she’s lived her life the way she believed her father wanted her in order to honor his memory; which is why she pretended to be rich and didn’t light incense for her father. Keima continues telling her that she has her own life now. Mio tells him that her father lives on in her heart, and as long as she  lives the way he wanted he’ll never die. Keima tells her to remember the time she smiled while whipping him, and comments that while she normally never smiles, she looked alive and looked like she was having fun. He tells her that wants to continue seeing her smile. Mio blushes and punches Keima.  Mio tells him that ever since he showed up, her father’s place in her heart has been getting smaller. Keima tells her that despite that he wants to live in her heart and tells her to deicide how to live her life and kisses her. The runaway spirit comes out and Elcea captures it.

The next day Mio asks Keima to look at her change and asks him if it’s enough to buy an omelet yakisoba sandwich. Keima tells her it should be enough for 2 and gives her back her change. Elcea comments that Mio’s changed, but Keima tells her that her overall personality didn’t’ change. Keima notices Mio staring at him, and Elcea says it’s unfortunate that Mio lost her memory of the incident. Keima tells her that she’s better off forgetting about her father and him so she can start living her life.

Opinions:

Another faithful ep, the thing I really want to note is the great Ayumi preview pic this ep. I just love how they’re doing these galge style preview clips! Plus I’m a big Ayumi fan. My two favorite captures are Ayumi and Kanon! Ayumi and Kanon LOVE!!!!
