Summary:

After reading an e-mail stating, that the 1st edition of the game “Love Tears” is still available in s certain store; Keima prepares to go splurge on games. Early the next morning (around 5 in the morning), Keima travels to Akiba to buy the game, with Elcea following along. The store Keima was going to still isn’t open yet, so he goes into another store only to find that they’re having a retro game sale. So Keima spends his time shopping around in that store and instructs Elcea to go to the other store to buy the “Love Tears” 1st Edition game. Keima gives Elcea a quick crash course in games since Elcea can’t seem to tell the difference between games. So Elcea goes to the store to buy the game but gets stuck finding 3 Editions of the game. Elcea is able to eliminate one of them after realizing one of them is the “Girls Side” edition. After some thinking, Elcea remembers that Keima told her that when in doubt, buying the more expensive version is better. So Elcea buys the most expensive version and takes it to the cashier, but at the counter she notices an even more expensive edition. She meets back up with Keima and presents him with the “game”, only to have Keima point out that she bought the anime version of the game rather than the game.

One Sunday Elcea and Keima’s mom are cleaning up the café, while Keima is playing his games on his PFP, and savoring his time since he hasn’t had much time to play lately. Keima proclaims that since there’s nothing to get in his way today, he won’ allow anyone to interfere with his gaming. At that moment Haqua comes to visit him and Elcea Keima asks her why she’s here, and stated her story has already ended.  Haqua reveals to him that she has to write a report on the incident with the escaped runaway spirit and claims that despite his protests, Keima is happy to see her again. Haqua reveals the model they’ll use to recreate the events of the incident by inputting voice commands into a microphone.  Keima assists Haqua by recounting the events of the incident, and Haqua is impressed that Keima remembered the incident in such detail; able to recount minute details at the exact minute they occurred. Keima humbly remarks that it’s easier than memorizing walkthroughs for game routes. Haqua remarks to Keima when she heard that he used love to capture the runaway sprits, she thought it was impossible; which leaves Keima to speculate if there are other ways to capture the spirits.

Keima and Haqua finally finish recreating the events of the incident, but Keima forcibly request to go back to 3:31 PM where in the theater it was reported that “Keima, who was scared, clung to Haqua”. Keima edits the entry to state, “Haqua pitifully clings to Katsuragi”.  Haqua takes back the microphone and revises the entry to state, “ Katsuragi wrapped is arms around Haqua, and states Katsuragi is an extreme pervert who’s better off dead”. This revision has the clay models of Haqua and Keima doing some lewd acts. The two start fighting until they notice Elcea behind them. Elcea gets upset seeing the model, because at that time she was all-alone while Haqua and Keima were doing such things. Elcea throws a hot pot of tea and wrecks the model. Afterwards Haqua departs, but offers to shake Keima’s hand as a mean of thanks. Keima is about to shake her hands, but tells her to do the report herself next time; which leads her to slap his hand away and fly off. Elcea wonders if the real resason why Haqua came was to see Keima, which leads her to go back inside and lock Keima out.

Opinions:

This episode covers chapters 33 and 27 of the manga. So the moved the Haqua episode from right before the Chihiro arc to right after, it seems. Not a huge difference. The only real change was that prior to this episode Keima already knew there were 60,000 Weiss left because of Elcea, where in the manga in finds out from Haqua. The first half of the episode felt like filler, but it was filler that was in the original manga. It probably feels like filler for anyone who’s into games, at least that’s how it feels for me.  Definately loved the 2nd half of the episode where Haqua makes her reappearance. I found it pretty amusing watching the models of Keima and Haqua enacting Haqua’s description of “Keima being a perverted beast who’s better off dead” which lead model Keima to act just like that. It’s interesting to note that Elcea managed to pick up on Haqua’s feelings for Keima, I was wondering if it’s because it’s Haqua or if Elcea is surprising perceptive. The omake pic this week is of Tenri, which is great but feels a bit like a tease since she doesn’t make an appearance this season. Maybe she’ll make a cameo like how Haqua did last seson? In any case next episode starts off the “teacher capture” arc with Aki Toyosaki voicing Jun Nagase! I’ve been looking forward to this one too!
