Summary:

Due to the events of the previous episode Subaru and her father are having a fight. Because of this, Subaru asks to stay with Kinjirou. Kanade comes to try to get Subaru to come back home by replacing her as Kinjirou’s servant. During the match Kanade and Subaru have to see who’s more worthy to be Kinjirou’s servant; Kinjirou falls ill. Subaru nurses Kinjirou, and while Subaru is busy Kanade takes Kinjirou to see Subaru’s father so he can forgive him. It’s Kanade’s hope that by Kinjirou forgiving Subaru’s father, Subaru will make up with her father and they can return to the mansion. Things don’t work out too well when Subaru finds them, and she’s upset that Kinjirou left when he’s still sick. Kinjirou tells her that she doesn’t need to worry about him, but Kinjirou gets weak again and starts to lose consciousness. Kanade tries to get an ambulance to come pick them up, but Kinjirou tells her to get out of the way and he tells Subaru that he’ll be fine without her. The next day Kinjirou is feeling better, and Subaru tells him that she was happy that he told her that he would never die because Kinjirou is her precious friend. Subaru takes her leave to take care of her dad since he got sick. As Subaru leaves, Kanade pops up out of nowhere and comments that Kinjirou didn’t look like a chicken when he was telling Subaru that she didn’t need to be by his side. Kinjirou takes it as an insult when he told Kanade to move out of the way, and Kanade closes in and kisses Kinjirou. Kinjirou gets a nosebleed and Kanade comments that Kinjirou is still a chicken and that they’ll still need to go through “training”.

Opinions:

Finally star to see more dere dere from Subaru. I loved her reaction when she first enters Kinjirou’s home.  Here look of curiosity and embarrassment with her face flushed red and cat ears and tail sticking out; it was truly a site to behold. The way Subaru is starting to interact with Kinjirou, it really feels like a “first love” kind of thing doesn’t it? Like when you fall in love with someone you kind of act like Subaru don’t you? You curious and you want to know more about the person you like right? And at the same time it’s hard to admit you like them (in the beginning).  That aside, the big event in this episode is Kanade stealing Kinjirou’s first kiss. I’m super curious as to Subaru’s reaction to this, though I’m sure it’ll be a violent one. I hope it leads to some development between Kanade and Subaru since it’d be interesting for them to compete with each other for Kinjirou with both of them having been so close to each other. That is assuming that Kanade is serious about Kinjirou and not just messing with him which she is prone to do. Knowing her it’s probably half and half. Next episode adds another character to the series, and we’ll see who’s harem she get added to. It’s either Subaru or Kinjirou right? I think I’m gonna place my bet on Subaru.
