Summary:

Ai is managing the Girls’ Swim Team’s Oden stand during the School Festival. But she can’t stop thinking about Junichi. After the festival Ai is about to join Miya and Sae for a sleepover, but remembers that she needs to by her little brother a Christmas present. While out, Ai sees a Sentai transformation belt and remembers when she was playing with one with Junichi last year and starts to pine for Junichi. Ai gets surprised when Junichi actually shows up behind her. Apparently Junichi snuck out of his study camp because he really wanted to see Ai. Junichi takes Ai to a coat store and buys her a lovely white coat. Ai is hesitant to take it, but Junichi tells her he wanted to get it for her ever since he saw it. Ai gladly accepts, and Junichi takes her coat. While walking around town, Umehara notices the two. Umehara gets stopped by some cram school instructors that are looking for Junichi, and Umehara misdirects them so they don’t get anywhere near Ai and Junichi. Junichi and Ai spend the night playing around the town. Eventually they stop at the park and talk. Ai talks to him about how lonely she was when she couldn’t see Junichi and wonders what will happen when he goes to college. Junichi reassures her that nothing will change, and if anything he’ll just love her more. Junichi does tell her that when he enters college he plans to rent an apartment, and asks her if she’ll keep a key to his apartment.

So as I thought, Junichi “magically” appears in time to spend Christmas with Ai. I gotta say though; Umehara is the man! In a situation where some guys would get jealous and probably give him away out of spite, Umehara does the bro thing and guides the instructors looking for Junichi away from him. He doesn’t even bother mentioning it to take credit for it! It was pretty funny though when Umehar accidently hit on his teacher. I gotta say I’m a little disappointed by Ai’s story arc though. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I don’t think I got enough Ai out of the arc. The next story arc is Kaoru’s and I am curious to see what type of story it’ll be.
