Summary:

As Hayate is leaving Hinagiku’s house to go back to the mansion, Hina is saying her goodbyes to the cat and asks Hayate to take care of it since she can’t keep it because her mom is allergic to cats. Hina says she’ll try to find it a good foster home, but Hayate says he’ll try asking Nagi if they can keep it. Hayate asks Hina if there’s anything she wants as he wants to show his thanks for being able to stay at her place for 2 days; Hina’s mom tells him that March 3rd is Hina’s birthday so that’ll be his chance to repay her. Hina says  he doesn’t have to, but Hayate tells her to look forward to it. When Hayate gets back to the mansion, Nagi rushes to the door to greet him; Nagi notices the kitten and tells Hayate that it’s not good, but changes her mind after the kitten licks her finger. Nagi tells Hayate she’ll raise the cat as a Sanzenin cat and names it Shiranui , and Hayate questions why she’s naming a black cat Shiranui (means white powder); Nagi says it’s fine since there’s a white cross-shaped mark on Shiranui. Hayate wonders if Maria will object to keeping the kitten, but Nagi tells him it’ll be fine since witches and black cats have come as a set since long ago; Maria promptly appears behind her and asks her who’s a witch? Maria says she’s fine with keeping the cat, but asks if they’re forgetting that they already a large cat. As Hayate is talking with Tama, Tama laughs and says it’s fine since it’s not like he’ll eat the kitten; Hayate comments that Tama’s being pretty relaxed on the issue, but Tama tells him that for an adult like him, that baby is nothing. He also reminds Hayate of how long he’s been by Nagi’s side a long time so he’ll always be there when Nagi needs him; Nagi comes in the room and Tama comes cheerfully meowing towards Nagi.

Nagi tells him not to come to her room for a while since Shiranui would be afraid of him. This shocks Tama, and he immediately gets out a bunch of condiments and wonders which one would be best for a kitten; this has Hayate questioning how much of an “adult” Tama is. Later that night Hayate comments on how well Nagi is taking care of Shiranui, and Nagi attributes it to the experiences she had when she raised Tama; such as feeding him, cleaning him, sleeping together, watching anime together, playing video games together, and sending him to get doujinshi. Hayate comments that he understands now why Tama is the way he is; Hayate tells Nagi to be careful with Tama since his situation is like when you get a  new younger sibling. Nagi says she’ll play with him a lot later, and goes to take a shower and leaves Hayate in charge of taking care of Shiranui.  While Shiranui is in Hayate’s care, Tama strikes and reveals he’ll get Nagi to hate Shiranui since it’d be pointless to kill him. So Tama’s plan is tear up Nagi’s manga notebook and blame Shiranui for it; Hayate tells him he won’t let him do that and prepares to fight Tama. Unfortunately, while the two are focused on each other Shiranui is ripping apart Nagi’s manga playfully. This shocks them and Hayate pulls Shiranui aside, and Tama tries to piece the shredded manga together; unfortuantely for Tama, Nagi has come back and places the blame of the shredded manga on Tama. Nagi locks Tama up and leaves with Shiranui; Shiranui flashes Tama a sinister grin as he leaves with a “As I calculated” remark coming fromt he narrator.

The next day at school, Nagi is telling Isumi about Shiranui and invites her over to come see him. Isumi tells her she’ll come over after she goes home to change; Nagi questions the point since Isumi doesn’t wear the school uniform to begin with and is already wearing her normal clothes. Hayate takes this opportunity to ask why Isumi doesn’t wear the school uniform; Isumi tells him it’s because skirts are embarressing and make her legs cold. Later at the mansioin, Isumi comes by in a different kimino and comes to see Shiranui. As Nagi is about to hand Shiranui to Isumi, Shiranui starts hissing at Isumi and gets rather hostile towards her. This depresses Isumi and she goes home and writing calligraphy of basicallythe word “sob” and such. Isumi eventually goes to see Sakuya on advise on how to become a woman who’s liked by cats. Sakuya wraps Isumi’s head with seaweed and puts a some bonito in Isumi’s right hand and lights it on fire. Isumi says she feels like an idiot for depending on Sakuya and prepares to leave; Sakuya stops her and the two get in the bath, with the student council trio coming in to make a fan-service scene.

Afterwards, Sakuya suggests Isumi start her change by changing clothes; since she’s noticed that Isumi is interested in the frilly clothes Nagi wears. Sakuya has her maids dress Isumi up and Sakuy comments on how good Isumi looks in a dress and takes her to Nagis; though Isumi is a little embaressed as she blushes at the thought of Hayate seeing her dressed up. At Nagi’s Hayate and Nagi comment on how good Isumi looks in a dress, but comment that it has nothing to do with cats. Isumi flashes a glare at Sakuya; Hayate tells her if she’s that hated by cats, he’ll use some magic on her and sprays her with a diluted solution. Shiranui instantly jumps into Isumi’s arms, and Isumi asks Hayate what he used. Hayate replies he used some diluted catnip since cats love catnip, and tells Isumi that her previous clothes may have had a scent that cats don’t like. Isumi is surprised that she can be like or hated just becasue of smell, and Hayate replies that cats are just animals; Sakuya comments that Isumi just embarressed herself on wasted effort, and Isumi starts chasing Sakuya with a lighted bonito in her right hand and Hayate comments that the two really get along. Isumi asks Nagi if it’d be alright to play with Shiranui more, and they all play outside. Hayate brings Tama, since Nagi said it’s no fun without him and Tama happily runs to Nagi. Later at Wataru’s video store, Sakuya is selling Wataru pictures of Isumi in a dress for 10,000 yen each.

Opinions:

Well that was definately an Isumi fan service episode. I can’t tell why Isumi looks so darn cute in a dress! Is it because it’s a change of pace as she usually wears a kimino?! Is it because Isumi just looks cute?! I can’t make up or find any reason!!! I did find the Isumi and Sakuya, and the Isumi and Shiranui moments very touching or at the very least quite cute. After the kind of episode this turned out to be, I came to the conclusion that we need more Sakuya to make things a little more interesting than they’d otherwise be. She’s not nearly in the story as much as she could/should be! That said, next episode seems to focus on Wataru and a little Wataru X Sonia development. Man, I wonder if Sonia could be Wataru’s answer to Hayate, he already has Saki and there’s the whole Wataru X Isumi and Watar X Sakuya………. I’ve said/thought this before, but Wataru is well on his way to his own personal harem. Looks like he’s the hidden main character in this series, or at the very least the main character of a spin-off.

First off I would like to say awesome blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing.

I’ve had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas
out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?
    Appreciate it!
