Summary:

Nagi is speaking with the alien that crashed in her room; the alien’s name is Maya and can’t find her spaceship. Nagi agrees to help her find it; mistakenly believing that there will be technology to give her a sexy body on board. Meanwhile Hina is bathing in the onsen with Ayumu looking for a chance to tell her that she likes Hayate; as Hina is thinking about telling Ayumu, she falls unconscious in the bath. When Hina wakes up she sees Ayumu watching over her and cooling her off with a fan. Nagi finds  Maya’s spaceship at Isumi’s, since she felt that someone from Isumi’s family is likely to take something like a spaceship; Nagi then sees Hayate entering Isumi’s house and gets paranoid on what is going on. It seems Hayate went to Isumi’s to make good on the promise he made to Isumi’s great grandmother. Hayate is willing to give Isumi some of his blood, but Isumi strongly refuses to do so as she feels that her current situation is her own fault and doesn’t want to bother others. Isumi talks about how when she was younger, she wanted to help her friend who was the daughter of someone her mother thought of as a sister. Due to her inability to control her powers though, her efforts ended up hurting the girl (Isumi basically attempted to get Nagi one more chance to see her mother after she died).

Hayate takes his leave, but is stopped by Kotetsu who embraces Hayate. Nagi comes into the room to see why Hayate came to Isumi’s, but sees Kotetsu on top of Hayate and misunderstands the situation. Hayate tries to explain the situation, but Nagi is convinced that Hayate swings that way since he had no reaction to seeing her naked body at the onsen. Hayate replies that reason for that is because she’s still a small child; this hurts Nagi’s feelings and she runs out of Isumi’s house and tells Maya she’ll go with her to space. While climbing the spaceship, it activates and locks Nagi inside and begins to take off. Maya informs them that if the ship leaves, Nagi will never be able to return to Earth. Hayate desperately tries to ask Maya how to stop the ship, but unfortunately they have to be on to do so. Isumi comes up and kisses the blood on Hayate’s cheek and with her powers returend, sends Hayate to Nagi (with the use of a giant Gibson Jr. who homeruns Hayate towards the spaceship).

On board the ship, Nagi is thinking about how her last goodbye with Hayate ended with them fighting and how she doesn’t want it to be like when she said goodbye to her mother. Hayate then appears behind her and the two reconcile. Upon going to the cockpit of the ship, they discover a drunken Yukiji is responsible for the ship taking off; after knocking her out, Hayate is curious how to get them back to Earth. Maya then appears behind them and sends them back. Hayate has a vision of Nagi’s mother (who he describes as an older looking Nagi); in his vision, Nagi’s mother asks him to look after Nagi for her. When Hayate wakes up, he finds himself and Nagi at Nagi’s mother’s grave in Shimoda; the grave is in Shimoda because it’s apparently Nagi’s mother’s favorite place. Nagi tells Hayate that before her mother died, she had a fight with her and has always regreted ending things like that. Sakuya hits Nagi from behind and tells her to not be so gloomy as everyone has come. Isumi’s mother suggests everyone pay their respects to Nagi’s mother Yukariko.  A party ensues and Nagi tells Hayate she’s well aware that money will never bring her mother back; though she implies her grandfather doesn’t understand that. Later that evening Hayate is at Yukariko’s grave, and Nagi spies him asking her mother to appear to Nagi in a dream because he wants to grant her wish. Nagi appears behind him and tells him not to expect much from the deceased; Nagi then introduces Hayate to her mother.

Opinions:

Ok, this was a nice touching Nagi-centric episode. Sorry for not posting in a while (for those who noticed) still wrapping up my thoughts and pictures from both AX and Comic-Con. Lots of stuff to show and talk about, but that’ll have to wait for later. Gotta say, I loved the Hina X Ayumu moments this episode and Ayumu’s “I’ll marry Hina and Hayate” Response has got my mind working, it can definitely work out! Also loved the Gibson Jr warp system! Pretty sure it’s the same voice actor right? For those of you that watch or read Major, let me know. Anyways, next episode starts the long awaited White Day arc!!! I’ll be looking forward to the Hina reactions!

One other thing to note, the con posts I’m working on aside, I’ve also started drawing again and I’m taking an inking course so I’ll be posting less. Personally I’m amazed at how much I get done in between drawing, learning Japanese, blogging, working out, and causal gaming; plus work and overtime. So bear with it please; blog wise it probably means I’ll just post up Hayate for anime amongst the few other things I post. I’ll probably do another series if no one else is blogging it and I like the show.  Oh yeah, once I’ve finished some drawings I can be proud of I’ll be sure to post them up!
