Summary:

In Tibet, a girl name Rana Linchen leaves her country to head to West Genetics. In class, Yumi-sensei is explaining about Nova’s Freezing ability and how a Limiter is essential in allowing a Pandora to move in a Nova’s Freezing area. This gets Kaho thinking about how Kazuya can use Freezing despite having never undergone baptism by a Pandora. Kaho tries asking Kazuya about it, but even he’s not sure how he does it. He explains that back then, he just wanted to protect Satellizer. This gets Arthur and Kaho to ask what’s so good about Satellizer and Arthur goes as far as to say he can understand that Kazuya fell for her looks, but states it’s a short term delusion as her personality would’ve crushed any delusion you had that she was a good person. The insults on Satellizer continue until Kaho and Arthur realize that Satellizer is right behind them, and they start panicking and insisting they were only talking about how beautiful Satellizer is. Satellizer ignores their comments and tells Kazuya that she needs to talk to him and asks him to follow her to the roof. On the roof Satellizer confirms that Kazuya is the only one that she’s fine with touching her by taking his hand and touching her cheek with it. Kazuya also comments that this is the first time he’s felt this way, though he doesn’t know what this feeling is. Satellizer tells Kazuya that she’ll accept him as her Limiter, but she can’t baptize him. Kazuya gladly accepts Satellizer’s proposal and becomes her Limiter

Outside the academy Rana is surprised by how different West Genetics is from her home and remarks that she’ll definitely find her fated person here. Meanwhile Satellizer invites Kazuya to eat some Queen Burger burgers with her. While they’re eating, Satellizer invites Kazuya to come to her room that night. As Kazuya is walking back to his room, he notices Rana in front of a map and lost. Kazuya helps Rana find her way to the headmaster’s office. After leaving the Rana in front of the headmaster’s office, Kazuya notes that it’s almost time for him to go to Satellizer’s room and rushes out. He runs into Arthur and Kaho along the way, and explains to them what happened with Satellizer. Kaho and Arthur are shocked to hear that Satellizer and Kazuya will pair up without performing a baptism. Kaho and Arthur think that Satellizer is just using Kazuya since she doesn’t want to perform the baptism; which is a symbol of the bond between a Pandora and her Limiter. Kazuya denies that’s the case and even tells them that he was invited to go to Satellizer’s room tonight. Arthur and Kaho are surprised by this since they believe this is the traditional “First Room Entry” custom where a Pandora invites the Limiter they’re chosen to their room in order to indulge them. Kaho explains that it’s a custom to strengthen the bond between the Limiter and Pandora and describes it as a special service for the Pandora’s “little brother”. Arthur recounts his “First Room Entry” with Ganessa, but doesn’t remember much because he got drunk and passed out.

Arthur changes the subject and remarks that he’s surprised that the “Untouchable queen” would still uphold the custom of the “First Room Entry”. Kaho comments that she probably feels bad that she isn’t performing a baptism with Kazuya. Kazuya is about to depart from the group when he’s stopped by three 2nd Year Pandoras. They ask Kazuya if the “Untouchable Queen” has agreed to partner with him, to which Kazuya replies “yes”. They introduce themselves as Audrey Duvall, Takeuchi Aika, and Torisu Mackenzie; whom Kaho recognizes as Pandoras Satellizer had defeated during the Carnival. This immediately pisses them off, and Kaho remarks that they’re targeting Kazuya for revenge for their loss during the Carnival. The attack Kaho, and pin Kazuya to the ground and start kicking them. Kaho tries summoning her Volt Weapon, which take the appearance of twin short swords, and tries to fight them off. Unfortunately Kaho is no match for them and gets slashed in the chest and is immediately taken down. Arthur tries to get help, but gets caught by Aika with her chain Volt Weapon and proceeds to start beating him. Seeing his friends get beaten, Kazuya yells for them to stop and activates Freezing. Rana whose nearby feels her “Tears of Kunlun” (what she calls Stigmas” react to Kazuya as he’s using Freezing. Aika, Torisu, and Audrey are frozen in place and Kazuya slowly walks towards Aika to get her away from Arthur, but passes out just before getting to Arthur.

The three Pandoras are shocked at Kazuya’s power and remark that it’ll be dangerous if he becomes Satellizer’s Limiter and are about to severely beat them, but are stopped at the last minute by Rana. They then turn their attacks towards Rana, who is able to easily evade all their attacks and quickly takes the three Pandoras out.  Meanwhile in Satellizer’s room she’s just decided on what dress to wear for Kazuya, but gets disturbed by Arthur who informs her that Kazuya is in the Recovery Center. Satellizer quickly goes there to see how Kazuya is doing. She passes by Rana in the hallway, who introduces herself and informs Satellizer that she’ll be enrolled in the academy starting tomorrow. Arthur asks Rana to come with him to see Kaho, and Satellizer asks the doctors about Kazuya’s condition. They inform her that his life isn’t in any danger, but he’s put a lot of burden on his body. Satellizer visits Kazuya in his room in the Recovery Center, and smiles, as he’s asleep.

Meanwhile in Kaho’s room, Rana is explaining that she came to West Genetics by order of her Elder to find her fated person. Rana continues stating that it’s the fate of women, who possess the “Tears of Kunlun”, and shows her Stigmas to Kaho and Arthur and says that they’re the “Tears of Kunlun”. Kaho is surprised that Rana has 6 of them though she surmised that Rana was a Pandora based on seeing how strong she was, and shows Rana her 2 Stigmas on her back. Rana is surprised to learn that the academy is a place with a lot of people with the “Tears of Kunlun”. Arthur figures out that the “fated person” Rana is talking about is referring to Limiters and remarks that she’s sure to find one in the academy. Rana remarks that she’s already found her partner and names him as Aoi Kazuya; though Kaho and Arthur comment that it’s impossible and explain to her that the person Rana met in the hall is Kazuya’s partner.

Elsewhere Atia is remarking that the “Untouchable Queen” has finally allowed herself to be touched, while another Pandora expresses her interest in Rana.

Opinions:

The episode loosely follows chapters 10-12 of the manga. There are a few differences from the manga and the anime, such as the location of where Rana and Kazuya first met, as well as that in the manga it was a bunch of thugs that were giving Kazuya and his friends’ trouble instead of Pandoras. Despite the changes, they still crammed quite a bit of content into this episode. As far as Rana goes, Kana Hanazawa does a pretty good job voicing her; if I had to describe it, it’s kind of like a more dense and energetic Shiori from KamiNomi. Next episode seems to be another fight with some 3rd year students. I am looking forward to when they actually fight Novas since we’re a good 1-2 mini-arcs away from that. If this series is 12 episodes then the Nova fight will probably be the last arc for the season. Before I end this post, I want to get something off my chest, is it just me or does Takeuchi Aika resemble Kira Kira’s Isurugi Chie like a lot? It’s bugging me!!! I’m not the only one who sees it right? It’s weird seeing a mean Chie-nee!!!
